How important is it to know what co-infections you have with Lyme disease?

My LLMD only checked for Mico which came back as negative but I have read it's important to know all the co-infections. I asked my LLMD this and she said it doesn't matter because it is the same treatment. I will clarify with her at our next appt but from what I have read, they are sometimes treated with different antibiotics. I am doing 3 antibiotics and a bunch of nasty herbal supplements. What do your doctors say on this? Thanks.

Co infection treatment is as important as Lyme treatment. And different Rx and herbals are commonly used for different infections. Also, things that can keep you from healing are Candida, mold, metals, dental issues and I'm sure there are more that aren't coming to mind.

It's a good idea to check your symptoms in the new to Lyme post to pinpoint any other things you may have going on.

Although many symptoms cross with Lyme and coinfections, it still will give you an idea of what needs treated.

Remember, treatment is not always done as a result of positive testing but more as a clinical diagnosis because testing is so inaccurate.

Great, thanks for the help. My Dr said my treatment will cover all co-infections but I am still itching to have a test done through igenex cuz I am so curious.
