My llmd will not let me do iv antibiotics. He keeps insisting I do massive quantities of oral abx. I do not understand this. I have a lot of stomach issues and this is why I think the iv abx would work better for me than the oral abx.
Can anyone think of a reason why he won't let me do the iv abx?! I know other patients of his do the iv abx.

Because IV abx do not come without risks.
There is risk of infection, there is risk of gallbladder damage to name a couple.
So, it's about
weighing the risks vs benefits with each individual case.
I don't know why his other patients are doing the IV - maybe they have more serious neurolyme?
I was listening to an interview with Dr. Jemsek. And, he reserves the IV abx for certain cases. I'm trying to remember if he said it was only 10% of his cases.
I would have to listen again to hear which cases those are. I do believe they are severe neurolyme cases.

Hmmm, interesting. I will have to check out Dr. Jemsek's interview. I guess it's good then that my llmd doesn't think I'm serious enough to need the iv. That's sort of encouraging. I know my llmd has treated quite a few people with lyme disease so I guess I should trust his judgment. Thanks for the info!

Here is link to his interview...it's a long interview...but I really, really enjoyed it (for a lack of a better word?)

He doesn't say much about
IV antibiotics, though...but it's a good interview...nonetheless.

Most old socs think that iv abx have to be ordered and obtained by infusion center at a hospital that will likely report him for long term ise .one work around is that he can just call in script
to infuserve america and you will pay for supplys one week at a time .i have learned to admin and flush and access on my own but some prefer to hire a nurse (also needs dr orders ) and then there is the matter of getting a picc line or a port and its maintanace .and though i haveade many gains it is not curative ..for heart and head involment burrascan recommends at least 6 months ....i got a clinic down hear where they will admin rocephin if you ask ....and one tx friend had her nurse friend start a temp iv every 3 days to do iv flagyl...kinda like backdoor abortions in the day ...
