What's the difference between Elisa test and the Western Blot?
Is one more accurate than the other?

I don't know a lot - but the Elisa is a screening tool whereas the WB looks at the different bands and your body's immune response to them.
The WB gives us more information.
Many LLMD's don't even bother with the Elisa. High false negatives with it.

I agree with Girlie on this one. My lyme was negative with Elisa and positive with WB.
But my doctor did not order the WB because the Elisa was negative. Most doctors (regular GPs) insist on a positive Elisa in order for them to order a WB. Such an absurd way of doing it, in my opinion.
