Hi everyone, I haven't been on here in awhile. Over the past couple of days, we have noticed something new that my mom is experiencing. Her knuckles on both hands and her finger tips have been turning blue, mostly at night like after dinner. Her oxygen is fine, etc and the nurses at the nursing home have no clue what it could be. Any thoughts?

Besides being blue are they numb?

Numbness in the body, tingling, pinpricks are symptoms of lyme.

My fingers got wrinkled very easy with lyme. You know that wrinkled look when you stay in the bath tub too long as a child. Mine would do that with just a shower. And I sometimes felt like I had Raynaud's because the tips of my fingers would be numb -- and it was summer!!

Sounds like claudation and sticky blood . She need to detox some way and thin hypercoagulation. Try lumbrokinase ,more heparin (short halflife) or venom

I would agree with Blue in the possible cause, and it could be from Lyme or Bartonella. Be sure to bring it up with her LLMD.

If her hands are at all cold, do what you can to keep her warm - even using gloves if needed, drinking warm liquids too.

1000- my mom is very close to giving up. She told me recently that she has made the decision that if she doesn't see any improvement by her next 6 week follow up, which is August 1st, she is going to stop treatment and go home on hospice. I told her I don't blame her. I can't ask her to keep doing what she's doing, living in this misery, not knowing if she'll ever get better.

Oh Kari, I am so sorry. This has to be so very hard on you. I wish I was there to hug you.

Maybe something good will happen and Mom will get a glimpse of better. I sure hope so.

She, and you, are in my prayers.
