I haven't had an opportunity to watch Under our Skin 2. Last time I checked, I think they wanted a lot of $$ for it.

I believe someone mentioned that there was an update on Dr. MacDonald in 2. For those who have seen it, what what this update?

Does Dr. MacDonald have lyme?

I'm not sure the rules on this but there is "information" out there.

wow - great documentary! Interesting to get filled in on what happened to Dr. MacDonald. Although, it seems strange that he had dementia and it went away. He seemed to imply that it went away all on its own. He didn't say if he ever did an antibiotic regiment. He didn't say if he thought it was lyme. There were quite a few details that he left out. But it sounded like he totally quit studying lyme disease because he got sick, gave away 100k worth of medical devices, and totally threw in the towel. Then he got better a couple years later and decided to get back into studying lyme disease again.


I would have liked to know if he thought he caught lyme, and if he did, had he been bitten by a tick, or did he get it from accidentally breathing some of his test tube substances in? Or did he accidentally injest something that was infected by borrelia.

I thought it mentioned he did have lyme - in the first Under our Skin...it's been awhile since I watched it.

I think he mentioned in the second one what his diagnosis was, and I don't think it was Lyme.

I didn't realize there was a second one. I'll have to watch it at some point... though not right now. When I watched the first one I was hoping for reassurance about what I was getting into if Lyme is in fact what's going on with me. After finishing the first one I was terrified, so many people suffering so much from this disease! Some of the stories in the first one made my symptoms look like absolutely nothing by comparison.

I'll probably check out the second one if I start getting to the point where I'm feeling a bit better, but right now I think it'd only freak me out more.

If i remember the second one was supposed to be the more hopeful one. Following up the treatment of the people in the first. I haven't seen it though. But that's how it was advertised to me.

The second one does follow-up with the people that are in the first one.

They show Mandy (blonde lady with severe symptoms), the Ranger, the young girl whose parents are carrying her up the stairs, and the gal who works for U2 band.


(and more...those are the ones I remember)


Definitely see the second one!!! There are some successes, positives in it.

I thought so too. Didn't they just show him in the 2nd one - but didn't explain anything...I remember wondering 'What happened with the lyme?"

Hmm if it's more positive I'll think I'll give it a watch right now. I could use some reassurance!
