Wasn't there a place where you could order all the herbs and it spelled out all the dosages/when to take? Like you order month one, and it sends you what you need and outlines when to take everything.

I may have to go this route, and frankly, I find his website completely overwhelming and confusing. I need a REALLY simplified version.

His book is excellent and it is affordable. It has been my guide through all of this.

Its "Healing Lyme" 2nd edition., there are also co infections books.

There are different routes to go. I use tinctures from Woodland Essence in New York, I like them for me because I can start off very slow with only one to two drops to see if I have a reaction or not. I only start one herb at a time. It takes time to build up doses but its well worth it.

Other use green dragon botanical in Vermont, they have Buhner treatment in a capsule form.

You can always ask more questions here many use or have used the herbals.

I started with his core protocol and built up from there targeting specific symptoms.

The single source monthly ordering is for the Cowden Protocol (aka Cowden Support Program) from Nutramedix. Its a more pricey herbal approach than following Buhner, but very well documented.

Buhner's herbs can be better customized for your needs, and you can still mix in some of Cowden's detox herbs if you choose. There are many here using Buhner herbs that can help you get started. Japanese Knotweed and Cat's Claw (similar to Cowen's Samento) are a good start since they are in the core protocol for most Lyme, Bart and Babs treatments.

I was going to say exactly what tickbite666 said, I think the one you are thinking of is Cowden's protocol, where everything is laid out for you.

Buhner isn't that difficult. I bought his book, Healing Lyme, Second Edition and went to Chapter 8 and was on my way.

Detox is important. Going low and slowly upping on the herbs one at a time is important.

I wouldn't order all the Buhner herbs at once as you might not need all of them. The book tells you the protocol and suggested dosages but everyone is different so I'd start with a very low dose of one herb, like Japanese knotweed and add in the other herbs as you work your way up to a full dose. There isn't a set protocol that works for everyone. It's trial and error.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I was thinking of Cowden. I'm not saying I'm going to make the switch to herbs, but may not have a choice at some point.

Those of you who switched from abx to herbs, did you just quit the abx cold turkey and start the herbs? How does that work?

As crappy as I'm feeling right now, I'm even more afraid of feeling crappier if I stop what I'm doing. It also took me soooooo long to get to the dosages of abx I'm on now. The thought of starting over just makes me want to give up.

I"m not sure how well it would work out with Cowden's, but with Buhner's I know that many have started titating their doses of abx down as they were building up the doses of the Buhner herbs - but as has been stated, Buhner's isn't as strict of a schedule as Cowden's. There may be some members that are currently active on the forum that would be happy to share how they did it though.

I would encourage you to start a new thread with the title something like 'thinking of switching to Cowden's, suggestions?" would work to get the attention of those that have done this.

I wish you the best of luck in your treatments, no matter what avenue you take!
