Hello i'm goimg through the struggle of lyme And babesiosis i'm seeing a somewhat llmd that has been to ilads And somewhat located in Guadalajara México i love in puerto Vallarta México he gave me doxy 200 MG every 12 h bactrim every 12 And rifa every 12 And well i AM feeling like crap i feel like i have a 10 year hangover dizzyness upset stomach pain all over And in my lower back as if it was in my kidneys he gave me that since there is no atavaquone in México but idk if me feeling nada is herx of SIDE effects of too much abx

Mexlyme - Doxy, Bactrim and Rifampin is good for Lyme and Bart but you will need something more for babesia.

Did you start all three at the same time?

I agree with caramba - detox and take probiotics daily.

You can also take a break from the abx for a day or a few days to let your body catch up.


If you can't get mepron...then there are other anti-parasitic meds you can take. Although Atovaquone is the most effective med at this point.

You could also add in herbal treatment for babesia.

Sorry I'm jumping in here because although I've read multiple posts, I don't know how to begin my own. I was dx CDC positive test in 8/2017. My symptoms started with sciatica and right sided chest wall pain in June 2017. On 8/2, everything came to a screeching holt after all of a sudden I got so weak I could get off my bedroom floor. Seemed very post exertional. The muscle fatigue was so intense I couldn't move for hours afterwards. I got short of breath to the point it was scary, my heart rate was high and I was tingly all over. My diagnosis was quick and was started on Doxy. After 5 days I was worse to the point I couldn't hold my own head up. I was switched to IV Rocephin and have been on it since. The IV Rocephin cleared my head and I no longer have the tingly sensation or "excitable nerves" after about 2 months. I now tested positive for Babesia but am waiting for the Igenex test to confirm that. I saw an LLMD last week who wants to continue the IV Rocephin course and see me in 3 weeks for a reeval and a vitamin IV and detox. He hasn't started any co-infection treatment because I'm doing so well. Although I'm not sure what we'll is. I still have a sense of weakness all the time. I question my abilities. Two days ago, I attempted to drive and go to my own appointment and ran a couple errands and found myself hitting a serious wall around 1pm with major muscle fatigue, shortness of breath and increased heart rate. Personally, I'm no doctor but I think my biggest problem is the Babesia and always has been. This post exertional stuff that comes on without warning is keeping me from everything. Any advice? What are your thoughts?

Sorry you're going through this. I have had the post exertional stuff and the shortness of breath. Those symptoms were worse for me before I knew I had Lyme, and I don't get those much now, so I can't really say what helps those specific symptoms other than just be mindful of your current limitations and stop and rest before you hit the wall. When I have the post exertional stuff, I can feel it coming just before I crash. I try to sit or lie down until it passes.

Listen to your body and give it due rest. Know that the symptoms will go away at some point, especially if you are treating all the infections. Keep in mind that treatment often makes symptoms worse. That can happen at any point during treatment. It's important to detox daily.

Hi Mexlyme. There is actually a good clinic in PV Mexico. The doctor that runs it is ILADS and very smart. It would be worth having a consultation with him about your treatment, or even going to treatment there! Here is the link.
