Best herb for Babs?

So I think I may have Babs. My DNX Connexions test was negative (it was done in January, before starting any treatment). Well, I've been treating for Lyme since Feb and now I'm having what I think are babs symptoms. My LLMD prescribed Malarone, but now I'm wondering if an herbal would be better, since I'm already taking 2 abx. Haven't started the Malarone yet.

I'm seeing tons of different information on what to take online. What does everyone here take and how much?

BTW, I will clear this with my LLMD first, but I'm pretty sure he'll be on board.

Many of my Babs symptoms could have been just lyme. I am not sure. I do know that many of the symptoms listed for Babs went away with my taking of the Buhner core protocol. But at the end of my treatment, just to be sure I added in cryptolepis. It is a super powerful herb in my body. I felt it at one drop, 1 time a day.

If you are going to add herbs, why not start at the beginning with more gentle ones and work up to the heavy hitters?

Maybe start with some collagen protection, then immune remodulation, cytokine remodulation and then go to the endotheial protection. Get those added in and working.

The thing about herbs, is so many of them work in synergy. Taking one herb for Babs may not be the ticket. Many of the herbalists have a core protocol that they expect the patient to take first and adjunct herbal therapy is added to that. Rarely do I find an herbalist saying to take only one herb for a disease.

For Babesia - I originally took cryptolepis, then added Sida acuta...and then switched over to the CSA. I

It was in tandem with antibiotics..

I stopped herbals after awhile...but I did add in Artemisinin several months later (not whole herb, but active constituent) to my bartonella protocol and I herxed...so that led me to believe I should do a Babesia protocol.

The CSA is Crytolepis, Sida Acuta, alchornea cordifolia - was part of Buhner's babs protocol.

I believe he has changed it now to Crypto, sida and bidens pilosa. (someone will correct me if I'm wrong)

I just recently started full-on Babs treatment - 3 1/2 months ago - and hoping it will resolve my last symptoms - if not may have to do a run at Bartonella again.
My LLND didn't treat me for Babs. So I'm on my own

Good luck. I sure did not like cryptolepis. Yuckie tincture.

Anyway I think it was the one that made the "chug" give me a shiver as I gulped it down.

Oh I shld clarify - I did Buhner Babs Herbs awhile back with abx for Bartonella but I didn't notice any change with them.

I'm now treating Babs with pharma.

When u guys added the herbs with your antibiotics, did u run it by your llmd first? I wanna eventually try the babs protocol that girlie listed and I see my llmd Friday to confirm my positive babs test from labcorp and was wondering if I should ask him about adding herbs. Do many Llmds agree with herbs?

I added the herbs...and told my LLND at my next appointment.

I think it's wise to let him/her know because if there's a change in your symptoms...your Dr. will assume it's from the antibiotics...when it may not be.

Some LLMD's don't want you to add to their protocols and I understand why - they are basing their protocols on the experiences of their patients and success or lack of.
BUT - it is our health, our decision ultimately.

Mepron with minocycline and rotating a third antibiotic (which has been changing) plus Artemisinin.

I'm pulsing the meds.

My regular GP was not my lyme doc. My 2nd lyme doc gave me Beyond Balance, God bless him. I was too impatient and moved onto doing Buhner in addition.

When I told my GP that I was doing herbs for my lyme disease, he just said to me, "let me know if you need anything." He is awesome.
