Antibiotics are very prone to cause a herx. You can't dose it at a low gently dose upward. It is a slam bam, thank you ma'am type treatment.
Therefore, it is highly suspect to being a herx with your 19 day timeline.
My opinion, which isn't worth much when it comes to antibiotics, is to back off the antibiotic and let the toxins learn to get out or your body.
Heavy herxing can be life threatening and it is not a goal! You want to gently heal yourself and herxing is not gentle.
What has happened is that you are treating and creating more toxins than your body can comfortably eliminate.
Oh a daily basis when we do not have lyme, we come in contact with many toxins. Our body is totally equipped to deal with those. Now, if you add in a bacteria, you have an added toxin load to eliminate. And to eliminate those toxins you need a clean pathway.
Our organs (this includes our biggest one, skin) are all involved in detoxing. Our job, as the proprietors of our bodies, is to give all the help we can to those organs to help them eliminate those toxins.
I know you have read the detox site on Tied of Lyme, so I will not repost it. But, take a break from the abx, let your body calm down, detox a little more. Not so much that you OVER detox (you can do that too). Just gentle baby steps. Add a new detox method in every 4-5 days and be gentle.
Your body will love you for this. There is not a rule you have to herx. It is not a requirement in the healing of lyme. The best route is balance. Medicine in, toxins out. Nice and balanced.
Hope you feel better soon....
