For over a year I couldn't even drink a couple ounces of wine cooler without dropping like a drugged person.
I found out my blood pressure(under treatment for being HIGH), would drop very low, too low, minutes into drinking.
I began thinking it is the conversion to sugar in me and perhaps getting an insulin spike because now that happens when I eat something. My A1c always tests good when fasting for the test.
My symptoms from the alcohol didn't seem to flare though, and so I've tried 6 ounces of wine cooler, some sips of cold beer and even a splash of apple pie whisky over the past few months and it hasn't given me that drugged feeling anymore. Just food.
But you know what? I HAVE had an alarming increase in symptoms in the past month that had gone away by the end of Winter. Particularly pain, burning sensations, headaches, etc.
You wouldn't think a few random bits of alcohol would do all that but maybe it was more than my system could deal with.
Good idea if we both stay clear of it, I'm sorry to say.
ETA: Oh, in case no one else mentioned this, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
It's the smart ones that ask, that want to learn.
And one more thing. This is your first post here? We want to encourage you to read our intro topic "New To Lyme?.....start here".
