Can you make tinctures with powdered herb?

Or do you need the dried plant? I have about .5 lbs of cat's claw and knotweed powder that im considering trying to tincture. I just drink the powder every day which is fine but its a little gross so having it as a tincture would be so much easier, and space saving.
If i can do this, can the same method be used for cordyceps powder? It would save me a lot of $ making my own vs buying tinctures.

The members on this forum that I have seen generally used dried herbs. But hey, be the first for me!! Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Thanks, Pete. I wasn't sure if it was an oxidative issue or if the powder would turn it to mud. I'll give it a shot

I make most of my tinctures with powdered herbs. I find the most difficult thing is straining them when they are done (I use a handkerchief). So far I've had good results with potency and effectiveness compared to ones I've purchased! Also be aware of prolonged skin contact when you are straining, your body can absorb them through your skin!

I also tinctured my cats claw powder long ago, and it worked. I preferred though the powder itself, but tincturing it will make it last much longer.

I never did with JK though...
