Welcome here Sweetlife. Sorry you are in need of a LLMD. I assume you must think you have lyme.
In the first thread on this forum is a post called New To Lyme? It is so full of information. I hope you take some time to read it. Lots of questions are answered there.
Now, on to finding you a doc.
Due to political controversy and legal challenges facing Lyme doctors, most of them prefer to keep a low profile. For this reason, they can be difficult to find. Additionally, good etiquette in the Lyme disease community dictates that when discussing doctors in public (including public internet discussion groups), their names should be kept private. We, on this board, follow these rules so we can keep our doctors safe and practicing medicine to help us.
I found my first doctor by going to this site:
/www.lymediseaseassociation.org/ You will need to create profile. I have 2 profiles with 2 email addresses so I can search more than 3 times in a month. I have not received any junk or unsolicited mail because of this registration. You go to Dr. Referral tab and continue. When you do get the list, the one I highlight is ILADS trained, and then at the bottom you click search. Some go for Naturopath, some pediatrician, etc. Like I said for each zip code you will get 3 searches per month. If you need help and more searches, let me know and I can do a search for you and email you the results.
Here is another place you can look:
/sites.google.com/site/lymedoctors/west-virginia Pretty slim pickens on this one. You might go to another close state.
None of those do I have personal references for. The doc P on the last link is the name that is on the master doctor list that the moderators have. That means that someone on this forum (who knows how long ago) has gone to this doctor and put them on the approved doctor list that is private to the moderators.
Good luck and hope you find a great doctor. There on the New To Lyme thread is a suggestion for questions you can ask your potential doctor also.
Let me know if you have any other questions. There is a great group of helping people on this forum.
