Looking for LLMD in/near Raleigh, NC

Hello everyone,

I had a western blot come back positive for Lyme back in Dec 2016. I was given the standard 20 days of antibiotics. I did not see any improvement and requested a retest that came back a few days ago with the same results as in Dec. So I have to get out of the CDC guidelines since that whole side of Lyme is not a help.

I will be willing to travel a few states but would rather start closer to home if possible. I know of two LLMD in the DC area so that distance for travel would not be out of the question. Then I know of a slew of LLMD located further north but I can not see traveling that far if the known closer LLMDs are at the top of the food chain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris did you try these places I gave you in your last post?

I used this site: /www.lymediseaseassociation.org/ You will have to register and you only get 3 searches a month. Go to Dr. Referral and then put in your zip code and highlight ILADS trained then click on submit. If you want a naturopath or another specialty, highlight that also.

I have used this site: /sites.google.com/site/lymedoctors/home You can look for surrounding states there also.

And, I just recently used this site and it really has updated information on it!!! I was extremely impressed. /globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/ It took them less than a week to get me a list of doctors. The names of the list is really updated. I know I already said that, but sometimes you get old lists that have been hanging around for over 10 years.

I have no experience with any of the doctors that you find on any of these lists. I am on the other coast. Also, if you find someone that is a horrible experience for you as a doc, please let us know.

Hi Pete,

Yes. I have actually tried all these months ago. My sister in-law had a bad case of Lyme so I got some decent direction already. But everything I go back from the sites were more integrated medicine Doc that appeared to want to push ONLY this approach. So I am in a data collection mode to make sure that I go to a LLMD that I am comfortable seeing. I have 2 both in the DC area so I may end up going to one of them.

Well, my advice is go with questions to the LLMD and take a note pad because you want to write stuff down. I sat in the car and wrote down what the doc said because I knew in 30 minutes I would forget.... brain fog.

Also, you can always change your doctor. You are not committed to stay with one. I fired my first one. LOL I just didn't tell him he was fired. I just never went back. He served his purpose giving me the IngeneX test. They rest of his advice was not to my liking.

My next LLMD was awesome. I loved him and his ways.

Searching and trying out is not a bad idea.

I'm in Holly Springs and have been seeing a LLMD in northern VA. It's 5 hours one way with little traffic and a stop or two along the way, and although feasible, the drive is getting old as I always do it the same day! I'm looking for a LLMD in the Raleigh area and have two in mind. I spoke with one office yesterday and will make contact with the other on Monday as they are on vaca this week. PM me if you want more info on any of them.
