So... I've been busy posting on that reddit Science AMA Series thread over the past couple of days. Thanks for posting - I wish I had been able to get over there sooner, I didn't start posting until most of the conversation died down. But I still dumped A LOT OF TRUTH on that thread...
AMA means "ask me anything" and was hosted by Michaeleen Doucleff, a global health reporter for NPR, and Rick Ostfeld and Felicia Keesing – disease ecologists from the Cary Institute in New York and Bard College - "we're looking at how to stop Lyme Disease"
They had relatively good answers but generally only answered questions pertaining to vectors, transmission, geographical factors relative to infection, and prevention. But of course, a couple disinformation agents showed up - one guy claimed to be an MD who knew nothing about everything involving Lyme, and another an epidemiologist who also parroted all of the typical disinfo about chronic lyme, etc. ----I set them all straight.
Mostly it was regular people asking good questions.
