Igenex test results, daughter

Hi there. I am new to this forum, although I have done a lot of searching on it. My daughter just received her igenex test results and I would like to know what you think. She has been symptomatic for probably 10 years.

Western blot IgG
IGX Negative
CDC/NYS Negative

Bands kDa 23-25 - Ind
Band 41 ++

These were the only bands that showed anything. She is seeing an LLMD so I am happy about that but just got her test results in today.

Do you think this is indicative of an infection? She has active EBV, Mycoplasma infection, cd57 was 32. She was tested for several autoimmune diseases which were negative.

I would love to have your input on her test.

Hi Huskeydog - welcome!

Was only the IgG done? What about the IgM ?

Band 23-25 is lyme 'specific' ...meaning only lyme will produce that.
The IND stands for Indeterminate. That means something 'showed' - but not strong enough for the lab criteria to call it a positive.

I'm curious about the IgM.
Many of us with chronic infections show IgM antibodies...and not IgM antibodies.

I'm glad your daughter is seeing a LLMD. Is she currently in treatment?

Huskydog-I'm going to assume since your daughter was tested through Igenex that both IgG and IgM.

To answer your question, yes imo her results are indicative of someone who does in fact have Lyme. If she's been symptomatic for 10 years then it's very likely that her immune system is suppressing her antibody response which is what the test is looking for.

CD57 is a 32 and she has what is known as the most common co-infection of lyme, Mycoplasma.

There's a lot of evidence here.

Hello again!! Thanks so much for the replies. She lives in Memphis and just sent me the REST of her test! I knew that couldn't be all!!

I guess this is her answer, she has felt horrible for a long, long time. She has been on an extremely restricted diet for a long time too. No sugar, only meat and vegetables. She is not currently in treatment. Thank you so much, it's really nice to have someone to talk to about something you know very little about. Hopefully her LLMD will put her on the right path...

I still don't get why non-lyme specific bands are tested. I wish someone knew this answer.

Mary, I am so sorry she has lyme. As a mother this has to be a huge concern for you. Just know that it can be treated and she can heal. It is not like a cold or flu. It will take some time, but it so doable.

Mothers worry no matter what and I highly suggest that you don't do too much internet searching. There is a lot of inaccurate information out there.

You should send her here. Lots of good information and caring people.

Keep asking questions here and you will get good info.
