Often I see people asking about Sierra Integrative Medical Center on this forum, so I figured I would share my experience.
I have been out of the clinic for 3 months now and it cost roughly $17k for 6 weeks of treatment. They work with a company that will take all your bills from Sierra, reformat them, and submit them to your insurance. The company - American Medical Health Alliance does this in exchange for a 20% cut of whatever your insurance pays back. In my case, I was able to get about $5.5k of 17k back.
I was there for 6 weeks. It was very strange, but pretty effective. Many people enter remission after treatment there. In fact a couple of the patients that were there with me that weren't as sick seem to be doing very well right now. People routinely come back in for annual 'tune-ups' just to make sure the infection doesn't come back. The standard treatment is 1 week of IV phosphatidylcholine to detox the liver, one or two high dose vitamin C IVs, and one or two Ozone UV light followed by hydrogen peroxide IVs. After that you enter the main treatment which is IV phos in the morning, a antibacterial / antiviral homeopathic shot called glyoxal, a detox shot, and the notorious push in the evening. The push is a injection into your bloodstream of a mitochondrial culture of chlorella. They make it right in the facility and I still don't quite understand how they developed it. Anyways, it creates extreme chills and violent shakes for about 30 minutes (depending on dosage and how your body reacts) and then you spike a high fever. Up to 106 F for 3 - 4 hours. They say that this is your immune system creating the chills, shakes, and fever to kill off the bacteria, viruses, fungus, and parasites. In my experience it wasn't terribly painful. The worst part was the nausea. You do 20 of those treatments and they check a drop of your blood under a dark field microscope every 2 weeks. Before you go home, your blood should be clear of borrelia. I ended up having to do 30 treatments before my blood was clear of borrelia and suspicious intra cellular bugs, which they try to identify, but sometimes it can be difficult.
They give you a home treatment that consists of detox shots, homeopathic shots, and glyoxal shots to do for roughly 6 months, along with various supplements. Usually when you go home you are incredibly tired and in more pain than when you started. The doctor says it is because of the inflammation your immune system created to kill the infections, which seemed to be true in my case. It took about 2 to 3 weeks for the inflammation to die down and for me to start feeling better.
I definitely did notice improvements after Sierra. My blood was much better looking. No infections, less inflammation, less liver stress, and more oxygenated. I don't think it brought me into a full, stable remission, but I still have some time to see. Some people say it takes 3-9 months after leaving to feel better. My pain is lower, my chest pain is lower, knee pain is much better, and I have zero brain fog. Some of the pain I felt before Sierra was due drug toxicity from the antibiotics.
I took 1 month off of work after Sierra, which in hindsight wasn't long enough. My job can be stressful, so I wonder if that attributed to my eye floaters. Maybe I should have given it a good 3 months post Sierra before returning to work. IDK.
Now I need your advice:
about 2 months post Sierra I noticed eye floaters, and blurry patches in my vision. I quickly went to my eye doctor for a check up. They found nothing wrong, so I know this is from the lyme bacteria affecting my eye or optical nerve. I quickly had an appointment with my local LLND who put me on 4 days per week of doxy, zithro, and tindamax. I have a feeling that this is too weak to finish off my remaining symptoms (Joint popping, chest pain, random bouts of inflammation, and now eye floaters). What should my next step be to enter remission? Money is not an issue to a reasonable extent. I live in the Seattle area, but I was considering seeing Jemsek. I have never treated babesia, so I have been considering treating for that. It seems that Jemsek treats almost all of his patients for babesia regardless of their test results. I am really struggling with where to go next and who or what method has the best results. Sierra took the biggest chuck out of my symptoms, but it wasn't curative. I was a high level athlete pursuing my professional license before this. I really need to get my heart and joints back soon!!
Thank you.
