Looking for an LLMD near Ithaca, NY.
about a month ago my wife came down with an unknown illness that basically incapacitated her for 3 straight days before she was able to start on Doxy, after which she improved rapidly, and was back to full health in about a week.
The problem is, the doc (a PA) only prescribed 10-14 days of abx as a precautionary measure. When Lyme and other tests all came back negative, the doc actually told her she could stop taking the abx!! (no, she didn't, she finished the prescription). Anyway... whatever laid my wife up is still undiagnosed, and while she is still feeling healthy now a month on, we are worried about Lyme (or other tick-borne infection) that may have been temporarily suppressed, but not eradicated by the short course of abx. In this area, and with my wife's frequent hiking and outdoor activities, a tick-borne illness is a good bet. I know the chances of eradicating Lyme are highest when treated early, so we would like to take precautionary measures now to hopefully avoid a possibly chronic infection in the future. Since there are no current symptoms (or any since the initial illness), our needs may be different than many others seeking professionals to help treat chronic Lyme.
No offense to naturopathic doctors and herbal remedies, etc., but we are looking for an MD.
I appreciate any input. My email should be visible in my profile.
Thanks!
