I,ve had this test many times, (results as high as 55,000 one time!) and with c3a. One should do both as a baseline.
High C4a alone can be several things, after all, its an inflammation marker. Candida can even make it soar.
My C4a would bounce around a lot after a lower but still continuous high with lyme and finally normalized after eating paleo with no milk, glutan or sugar in three months. I still eat this way, as it supports your immune system from the gut level.
That diet is not only anti-inflamitory diet but also anti- bacterial andi ant- yeast (candida). I'm in the same environment and was negative on other mold tests suggested by Dr Shoemaker. My LLMD thinks Shoemaker should look a little more into combining/testing yeast info too since they are not far apart in nature.
