Yes, I have this situation with my right shoulder.

Tendon and muscle pain. And since I haven't been using it properly I got a frozen shoulder. Sounds like you got it as well.

If I were you I wouldn't approach surgery first.

As long as inflamation is present, it doesn't matter what you do, it will always bug you. So you should keep up with your trearment and when the general inflamation lowers you should handle it with a PT or specialist that understands about scapular stabilization before any rotator cuff approach. So basically you'd want to be aware of how to recruit the muscles (neuromuscular retraining), get gentle manipulation from the specialist, and then as the last phase strenghening exercises for the muscles that hold the scapula in the right position.

Again, all of this when your inflammation is at its lowest level. Because it's very easy to end up doing harm instead, by trying to fix the problem when the recovery speed of the normal inflamation caused by these manipulations and exercises isn't proper.

I reinjured myself many times by doing rehab exercises, getting massages,you name it, at the wrong moment.

Meanwhile you can do very slow/gentle streches and gentle self release massage where you're feeling tension or trigger points.

VCL - Sometime after starting antibiotic treatment, both of my shoulders started to hurt. Prior they didn't ( my left shoulder BLADE did, but not the shoulders themselves)

It wasn't excruciating..until some time after doing the Bartonella protocol with Rifampin I woke up one morning and couldn't move my right arm...as the shoulder in the front - was excruciating painful.

Went to my regular Dr. (in tears - it was so bad) - and she gave me a topical anti-inflammatory, and said it was tendinopathy - said the tendon swelling was causing it to be impinged.
I had done NOTHING to provoke this.

It slowly got better - I just had to rest it for a couple of weeks and then my Physiotherapist gave me some gentle strengthening exercises to do.

I just blame it on the infection - there was no incident to explain it. And it hasn't happened again...that was over a year ago now.
I had the same thing happen prior to that with my left knee...all of a sudden painful...and couldn't bend it. It's better now, too.

I went through that too, its taken years to heal them to 90%. Years ago after I regained range of motion- they still clicked a lot moving them and would inflame easy. The tendons and muscle were real stiff.

After ABX, I did a lot of real hard pressure massage on them going on two years now. I roll on golfballs on the floor and push into my Theracane pressed against a wall/door jam into whatever shoulder stiffness I can find.

Hardly ever any noise now.

Yes, I do too. It's been a long time. They are swollen and there is crunching with movement. I takes me up constantly at night as any pillow pressure aggravates. Kind of like above poster, I am done with conventional med too

My LLMD said my shoulder/bicep bone pain is a normal Lyme symptom. It seems a lot of lymies have this issue. I notice mine is a lot worse when I am not on my strong dosages of antibiotics; like if I have to go off for pulsing.

The chiro called and said I need to see an ortho.

The MRI shows tendinosis and the labrum is torn.

Do I tell the ortho I'm being treated with all these drugs for all this stuff ?
Does that matter?

I would say that you're in treatment for lyme disease...but I wouldn't necessarily list all the meds - antibiotics...etc.
