I've been on doxy twice. The first time for 2 months paired with tini. Then a 2 month break where I did herbals only. Now treating bart with doxy and rifampin.

The LLMD has kept my dose at 100mg 2x a day. After reading on here and in my books, today I took 200mg in the am. Also started adding banderol and at 3 drops today adding a drop a day.

This afternoon after my epsom/peroxide bath, a had bad itching on the backs of my legs only! I've not had any itching with the lyme before. For me it is mostly muscle pain, and I have had the twitches and tics but for the most part those have stopped.

Did I stir things up between increasing the doxy and doing the detox bath? Should I go back to lower dose of doxy or is this a good thing?

Not sure what I should do for evening. I took alka seltzer gold and that seemed to help.

Try some detox, alka seltzer gold may help. I've been also experiencing itching during my heavy herxing period, few times it was scary but it always lasted for just few minutes. I have no idea what's causing that, anyway it stopped after few months of treatment.

Sometimes when we start a new abx it can bring out other symptoms. Or when we have knocked back one infection like Lyme, a more dominant one like bart can come out more.

When I was on abx and had started Bactrim I started to have itching and crawling sensations.

Loads of fun, but the good news is the intensity and occurrence has lessened quite a bit with continued treatment.

On the other hand be sure that it isnt hives, that could be an allergic reaction to the new herbal or a new abx.

I have had bouts of itching on the backs of my legs, too, for the past couple of months. Sometimes it's itched so bad I scratched the blood out of my leg. It's usually on the backs of my thighs, but I've had it on the backs of my calves, too.

I don't know what's causing it. I worried at first that it might be a sign of celiac or candida, especially since I'm not doing any special diet, or an allergic reaction. But then it went away only to recur in repeat episodes. I also have weird little bumps all over my legs that are flesh colored and about the size of a pinhead. The bumps are there all the time.

I'm assuming the itching is from Bart. Bart is well known for all manner of skin symptoms, so I'm hoping that's what it is.

Been there with the itching. Coconut oil does the trick.

This is an interesting topic. I was going to post a new thread because I noticed I experience extreme itching around my lower back, upper butt cheeks, and the upper back part of my legs. I notice it is intense after using my Rife device with the tens pads. I tested positive for Lyme and Bart Bacilliformis on the DNA Connextions test.

When I run the Bart Bacilliformis Rife frequencies along with some mycoplasm frequencies I notice my itching is more intense. I guess this proves that my issues truly are because of Bart. I hope I am killing or irritating the bugs and it's not just the Rife device irritating my skin. I don't know what to think anymore.

I also wanted to mention, I have been prescribed 100mg doxy 2 times a day. I have been on it since January. I also experimented with taking 200 mg 2 times a day. Whenever I do this the itching, twitching, and tingling in my legs seems to intensify. My LLMD doesn't seem to have any answers regarding this, but based on what you and I and others are experiencing when we do this there has to be some correlation.

I am in the same boat regarding the red bumps. I get them on my butt cheeks and the upper back of both my legs. They look like little bug bites and itch. I have seen multiple doctors regarding these bumps. I always get a different answer from the "medical professionals". They tell me they are folliculitis, scabies, bart bumps, and just a skin reaction from my neuropathy. I have had the for going on two years now. They come and go, some stay for a few days others for a few months. Some turn into a purple scar. It's beyond bizarre. One more sign that my body has been taken over by some unknown alien. I'm sure you can relate. The only thing that relieves my itching anymore is taking Gabapentin.

I tried apple cider vinegar. It cools the itch but is hard to do unless you're getting out of the shower, and it's pretty stinky. It was the best thing when I had shingles. With the shingles, I diluted ACV 50/50 and poured it over my sores before getting out of the shower. Then I applied the coconut oil, but the ACV is what cooled it and took the itch out.

I've had the bumps for several years now, but they seem to be increasing in number. I've asked the dermatologist about them before, and I think folliculitis is what she said. That sounds familiar.

The itching, though, is new for me. At least this itching is. When I first got sick in 2009, I would get stinging sensations in various places that felt like fire ants biting me. I would look where I felt the stinging and see a little bump raised up. Sometimes they would itch. Sometimes they would quickly disappear or jump around to another location. Other times, they would remain for days. The allergist said they were hives, but they didn't look like any picture I'd seen of hives. It would always be just one or 2 little bumps. I'd always thought hives were patches of raised welts. I never had anything like that.

It was 2009 when I first got sick, and that symptom continued to come and go for years but decreased in frequency. I recently had it happen again. First time in a long time.

We are definitely in the same boat. It's amazing how so many different doctors can diagnose these things without ever coming to a consensus. I was told by my infusion nurse that a doctor should be able to biopsy the bumps to get a definite answer especially if they are folliculitis. This way they know which antibiotics might work. Only one dermatologist I visited offered to biopsy them, but then when she was ready to do the biopsy she stopped and said there really wasn't anything there to biopsy. I just about started to laugh.

My infusion nurse was a guy who had just moved from India. He said in his country there would be no problem getting these areas biopsied. The medical profession in the US is so broken it's shameful. Most of these practitioners are just looking for low hanging fruit. It's very sad.

Hopefully we can get these issues figured out, but I don't hold out much hope anymore especially hearing that you have been dealing with this issue since 2009 without many answers.

I'm pretty sure it's Bart or Lyme. I'm treating both with Buhner's herbal protocol, and I'm hoping it will work for me. I believe if we treat the infections successfully, the symptoms will go away.

my advice if you try Buhner's Bart, go with all 4 antimicrobial herbs (isatis, houtt, sida, alchornea). Don't use just one or two because you want to save $ or are too lazy to get all of them. Bart is really hard to treat and the reason he added 4 antimicrobial herbs is he is not satisfied with his protocol.

Bart was first discovered in the '90s. It's a very "young" microbe, does not kill most people, so nobody's rushing to invest $$ in research. It sorta responds to most antibiotics but it never gets away when chronic.

Everybody knows how to treat bart. Nobody knows how to get rid of bart. LLMDs don't know, LLNDs don't know, frequency rifers don't know. As soon as u stop treatment, symptoms come back with a vengeance.Your only chance is to use any and all means at your disposal. If the guy listed 4 herbs, use all...

I used 3 (alcorhnea, sida, houtt) plus his support herbs, and got better temporarily, then relapsed badly. Now im back on bart antibiotics...

I really appreciate the replies. My itching was mostly the back of my thighs and a little on upper calves. I'd never felt it before after an epsom bath, and it continued during my shower and after getting dressed. I did the alka seltzer gold and that seemed to help.

I haven't noticed red bumps, but I do have mottled skin that usually gets better with treatment.

LLMD is now treating bart, and I have to confess I had almost a month of doxy left over from before so added it on my own to the rifampin pulsing. I also have almost a month of mino and tini. I will see dr in the next couple of weeks and will ask about doxy, but his goal (and mine) is to get me to an herbal protocol.

Maybe the doxy/rifampin combo is bringing out more of the bart symptoms. I've had mornings where I could barely walk my feet hurt so bad. Fatigue is worse too. I'm getting a swedish massage today and hoping that helps with circulation and detox.

I don't want to be on 3 antibiox, so what I was going to ask is to switch to the mino/rifampin when the doxy is out, then the tini/rifampin, then go totally herbal and see how things are. I hope he agrees.

A few months ago I had to switch from doxy to mino because of stomach issues. Then I went completely herbal a couple of months, but since we hadn't hit the bart with an antibiox he wanted me on rifampin. On the weekends I'm not taking any antibiox.

I do the herbs everyday: samento, red root, and started banderol. I was on houttinya, but LLMD said to stop while taking rifampin.

My goal is to get all my systems strong enough to fight the lyme and bart on their own, which is why I want off the antibiox and the LLMD agrees with that approach. So I was scared about the itching not knowing if it was a side effect or herx or detox or what! It was strange to me that it happened after the epsom soak.
