< 160 May or may not suggest active infection
>= 160 Indicates active infection

looks like you have lyme to me!!

You are IgG positive for Lyme.

And looks like you're also positive for Bartonella.

Girlie ... this is me : ) ...you have been SO helpful, just thought I would inquire about the labs.


this is for my sister, who has bulbar ALS symptoms and though she has a positive (IGX) Western Blot and an active Bartonella the ALS specialist told her she definitively has ALS. Ignored the Lyme stuff. I just want to know if any of the Indeterminate results should be retested and if these numbers are "what come up" or are they the bands that they test for. Not sure if I'm asking the question correctly.

CURRENT SYMPTOMS
slight paralysis on left side of face and weakness left arm and now leg, Weakness in tongue and back of throat, VPI, fasciculations all over - but worse in left arm. Severe pain in right shoulder/neck. Rumblings under her skin, arms, legs, neck and most prevalent of the rumblings are in her left arm.

LOL - I should have recognized your screen name. SORRY!

Your sister really doesn't need to be re-tested. She actually is fortunate that the Bart tested showed a positive...false negatives are a-plenty.


Her Lyme IgG:

Band (kDa) 18 (-), 23-25 (+), 28 (-), 30 (-), 31 (+), 34 (-), 39 (-), 41 (++), 45 (-), 58 (++), 66 (-), 83-93 (-)

Positive bands 23-25, 31 and 41 = lyme.

Band 23-25 is Lyme specific...NOTHING else turns that positive.

Band 31 is 'almost' lyme specific. A few other things can turn it positive - EBV for one, .
Band 31 is included in Dr. Horowitz 'list' significant bands when testing for lyme disease.


I know she is currently treating for Babesia. Many LLMD's feel that all the three B's need to be treated (Borrelia, Bartonella, and Babesia)

Dr. J.(Washington, DC) - very experienced, well-known Lyme Doc says Babesia should always be treated. In fact, he usually (maybe always) treats Babesia first.
