Lyme? Or something else?

My doctor did a blood test and he added lyme disease. The test came back but I don't know what it means and I won't be able to speak to him until Tuesday so I was hoping someone might know what my results mean.

The test was for Lyme, Western Blot, Serum - Ab IgG Ab.
All were Absent except IgG P41 Ab. said Present Abnormal
It says the Lyme IgG WB Interp. Negative

The other test was - Lyme IgM by WB - All were Absent and Interp. Negative.

The test summary said there may be a cross react with other diseases - periodontal disease, leptospirosis, relapsing fever, yawns and pinta, also rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and also antinuclear antibody. Other infections - epstein-barr virus and cytomegalovirus.

I don't understand what it means. The test says negative but there was the IgG P41 Ab. said Present Abnormal and then the list of other cross diseases. I with I could have my doctor explain it to me before Tuesday... The waiting id the worst because your mind goes into high gear about all the possible scenarios.

The reason for the test in the first place was because my feet, ankles, legs, arms, hands and face were swollen and also because my symptoms are all over the place and there are so many...

Can anyone help me to understand the test results?

Welcome pumpkin39. Glad the doctor tested for lyme, but please know that the lyme testing is unreliable.

So you could very well have lyme and the test might say no.

Let us know what the doctor says when you see him. I am curious if he will treat you on your symptoms.

Did you have a tick bit? Any kind of bug bite mark?

pumpkin - Labcorp may be a good lab - just not when it comes to testing lyme disease.
