Advice please - symptoms or just a headache?

Hi all I'm really confused as to what is a symptom and what is just a headache because I didn't drink enough water. I'm coming to the end of my 8 weeks on doxy after finding a rash. My doc wants me to stop doxy for a week so they can give me a test. In terms of symptoms it's been tiredness and nausea which many people said is due to doxy/ doe offs etc

I had a headache last week but prior to being bit I did get headaches now and then as well as knee pain occasionally.

Do I take the week off and get the test done? Could it turn chronic in that week of no meds??

How do I know what is really a symptom?

My rash seems to get darker in heat and fades after.

Why aren't you drinking enough water? That is how all the toxins get out of your body the easiest way.

A bull's eye rash is a Positive for lyme disease and you should not have to have a test, but better to not buck the system (doctor) and just do as they say and take the test. But, the bull's eye should be conclusive and you should not have to pay the additional expense.

Have you already had a lyme test?

My first symptom that was so debilitating was the head pain. It hurt so bad and long that I cried. I'm not really a cry baby either. Nothing touched my head pain and I could not get my regular doctor to understand that this was a weird pain, not a regular headache, not a hangover type headache and it definitely was not a migraine (I had those for years). Probably why the doc sent me to have a brain scan.

Head pain is generally inflammation. There isn't much room for anything to be inflamed in our skulls. So I think this happens easily. Treatment and finally my head pain was gone.

Oh and just like 10LymeB, I called everything a lyme symptom. I also learned not to try and figure it out. I just stayed treating.

You really need the water. Our body is like 60% water. I think of a pond. You don't want that pond to just sit there with the same old water in it. You need fresh water constantly going in and the old stagnant water going out. Even if all you do is suck on ice chips, that is better than nothing.

Do you like any liquids? Teas? I don't think it will hurt to put some strawberry slices in water to flavor it. Or any other fruit. You need water and if lemon doesn't work for you, at least you are getting the water in you.

I was negative on the Elisa test by Quest here in California. Just want you to be aware that there are a lot of false negatives when it comes to lyme testing.

Your rash alone should prove to the doctor that you have lyme and he should treat you. I hate for him to base your treatment on a unreliable lyme test. What will you do if the test is negative? Quit treating?

Oh my!!! Not really a option, in my opinion.

Try not to worry. Lyme loves us to worry so don't give into that.
