Treatment questions

So I saw my LLMD last Friday and we discussed stopping abx because I dont want to be on them that long (going on 8 months) and this is what she said.

Have been on Rifampin 450mg, zithromax 500mg, mino 200mg, and tinidaozole 500mg pulsed 3 days a week for a month, did almost the same combos before that. She wants me to take a week break and take diflucan during that week because I was having yeast and stomach pain. After that, to start up with Rifampin 450 mg, tinidazole 500mg 2x a day, and cefdinir 300 mg 2x- do that for weeks and then stop abx and just do strictly herbals.

I have also been on herbals since day 1, and she said I wouldnt need to add any. This is what I am currently taking herbal wise: crypto plus- 40 drops 2x, sarsparilla 2x, ALA 2x, artemesinin- 800mg pulsed, sida acuta 40 drops 2x, GSE 2x, s. boullardii- 2x, ashwaghanda- 2x, natto 2x, lots of probiotics, LB core taking 4 a day, she said up it to 9 a day, omega 3, b-complex 1x, salt for pots.

Does this seem like a good treatment approach? I am wondering if just starting up for abx again for 3 weeks is even worth it. and then I am not sure if I am taking the right herbals to rid this. She said to add cumanda and banderal if I want. Thanks

I'm wondering why she is having you go back on for three weeks - and introducing the cefdinir at that time.

That doesn't really give the cefdinir a chance to do much.

No- still the same symptoms as the beginning, just not as bad. and I was wondering that too. Seems pointless. Maybe it will be a game changer and I will request to stay on abx? She is only taking me off of them because I said I dont want to be on them longer. I also said if she thinks its the best right now to stay on them, but she seemed to think it was ok to get off of them.

From my point of view I think It would be fine to stop antibiotics. It is known that long term antibiotics have not been known to help late stage lyme disease. There are many people on here who have used antibiotics for years to no avail. Ask your LLMD about what options you have to focus more on immune dis regulation. also please look for new research regularly.

I often do this through googling Lyme disease, click on the google news tab. The most relevant articles come up first. I also sometimes sort the articles by date and read some of the newest ones. also contacting your local government and letting them know that more needs to be done will also help if real solutions are what you seek.

Everyone is different. There are some very prominent LLMD's who believe you need to take abx for potentially years to get the load down enough for your immune system to take over. Slow and steady marathon like not a sprint.

This approach is so different than what you take for most infections 7-10 days and you're done. These buggers are persistent and numerous and quite adept so a multi-pronged approach is always a good thing. I always take a few herbs to supplement my abx.
