Thanks for all the responses you all.
10LymeB - thats interesting. I wouldn't have thought honey was systemic enough. I eat regular honey daily, but i guess it's not the same
goshawk - i should have clarified. I take everything 3 times a day
I am in full support of the idea of synergy. Problem for me is i have been very sensitive to a lot of herbs so when I take a bunch of things and can't figure out which one I'm reacting too it's been difficult manage. My strategy now has sort of been to take the main support herbs like knotweed and cats claw which are also a little antibacterial. Then add in some heavy hitters to lower my parasite load (this is where I'm at now. just trying to find something that hits my neuro infections. crypto did at first then stopped). Then add in some more specific support stuff to tie up the loose ends. I've tried some support things early on like ashwagandha and dan shen and it just didn't do anything for me. I'm way too inflamed.
Aerose - these things aren't that specific. For example in stephens herbal antibiotics book he lists cryptolepis for aspergillus, babesia, bacillus, capylobacter, candida, entamoeba, enterobacter, e coli, herpes, klebsiella, mycobacteria, gonorrhea, malaria, proteus, salmonella, shigella and several strains of staph. He lists houttuynia in his antiviral book for acinetobacter, angiostrongylus, anisakis, aspergillus, bacillus, c jejuni, candida, coliform, haemophilus, listeria, etc etc etc. There's no reason to assume it does or doesn't work for Lyme. It just hasn't been studied. Lyme, at least the motile spirochetes, are pretty susceptible to most antibiotics so i think a lot of these broad spectrum herbs should cover it.
chickenarise - i used to take olive leaf from swanson with no effect unfortunately. i've also brewed the leaves without effect :/ I've never read anywhere that it was systemic and so i chalked it up to that. Good to hear on monolaurin! i've been interested in that one. I'm going to look into myco now as well. I need to look back into my rainforest herbs book too. I know they've got a lot
Peteza - I'm lucky that i don't actually need much for my heart. Most of those symptoms have died down. There just there enough to know that it's still infected and needs to be dealt with. i've been interested in andrographis but scared of the hives reaction lol. Idk why. Supposedly it's super rare. But like... what a way to ruin a few weeks. This may go on the list though. In baby doses until i see how i deal with it
That's interesting about
the garlic. Going to stay away from that just because Lyme has given me some intractable BO and it's made me super self conscious. Love ginger too. Sometimes when my vascular symptoms are acting up I drink a strong dose of it and it helps a lot. Feels like it's fumigating my blood lol
