Colie2,
Hi and welcome!
I'm so sorry you're going through this and that it took so long to find out what was wrong. It took me 7.5 years to find out I had Lyme and more.
Unlocking Lyme is a great book. Stephen Buhner's books a very helpful too, but they are much more technical. I decided to treat with herbs on my own after a bad experience with antibiotics and a huge lack of trust in the doctor. It's really sad that we often have to be our own doctor, scientist, researcher, and investigator in order to help ourselves get well. The learning curve is huge. Dr Rawls' book is clear and easy to follow, and he offers real, common sense advice.
I agree with Girlie. Co-infections need to be addressed, too. Bartonella and babesia are 2 of the most common. Stephen Buhner has books on those, too, as well as herbal treatment protocols. Buhner also suggests lots of other herbs and supplements for different symptoms.
The more you know, the better decisions you can make, but don't feel like you have to understand it all before you can start. You could start with Japanese knotweed and cat's claw while you're reading and planning how to approach this. Just start with tiny doses and sloooowly increase. Start with one herb at a time to see how your body reacts
Hope this helps. Keep asking questions and reading. There's a lot of very knowledgeable and kind people on this forum.
