Feeling aweful!!

sorry you're feeling so crappy tsak. just because you were diagnosed shortly after symptoms doesn't mean you'll heal any quicker. sure some do but not a guarantee i was diagnosed 5 months after symptoms and here i am 2 1/2 years later still battling this illness.

sounds like you were doing doxy then IV Rocephin. only one abx? sure it can do something but there's no guarantee its going to + you could be dealing with parasites including babesia which rocephin won't touch.

FYI testing means very little unless its positive. there are many false negatives because if you don't have any organisms in the blood drawn you won't see them.

most good LLMD's will treat all 3 B's off the bat (borrelia, babesia, bartonella). your LLMD isn't doing that. a good combo out of the gate is ceftin and bactrim that hits all 3.

are you detoxing? if you are killing off organisms you need to move them out of your system quickly so detoxing is critical.

You are taking something to protect your gallbladder, right? That's a must when on Rocephin.

You need to be doing much more detoxing. Have you done blood work to check liver and kidney function? Are you drinking enough water, taking some form of a binder, a biofilm buster? There is a lot of good information in the New to Lyme section on detoxing.

Ok thank you so much. I drink 4-5 bottles of water a day sometines with lemon in it. I am on Actigall for my gallbladder. I thought about a binder but all the information is confusing. What is best, how often to use it, and what to expect when using it?

Good input from the other members, already.

Your experience is familiar. I started IV Rocephin in Nov 2014. But it was a difficult and stuttering start and it took me a very long time to work up to optimal dose. I finally got off it back in May.

It's PROBABLE that you have barely scratched the surface of your treatment but 99% of MDs won't administer IV abx for more than a couple months.

DETOX
But first, as others have mentioned, before anything happens you absolutely need to be on a much more comprehensive detox protocol or your body will likely be unable to manage optimal antimicrobial levels.

GI
And you need to make sure your GI health is in really good shape for taking anything orally. Binders can help with both (good OTC binders: activated charcoal, bentonite clay, modified citrus pectin).

VIRAL LOADS
Next is you need to get your viral loads under control, which are contributing to your immune burden and probably a primary cause of the exhaustion/post-exertional fatigue you're describing. That was me to a 'T'. No antimicrobial protocol is effective without the support of your own immune system so it's important to suppress the viruses w/ antiviral Rx or herbs - you'll have to experiment to determine what works best. If you decide on meds, you must support liver function (milk thistle seed, burdock root, liver cleanse) and get enzyme levels checked monthly.

ADRENALS
Then adrenal support is probably a good idea - it's rare for people like us not to have pretty serious adrenal depletion. A 24-hr 4-5 saliva sample w/ urine sample adrenal test is important to figure out how best to supplement.

But you are also going to have to give in to being inactive at times. The cycle you're describing is simply depleting the gains you've made because you're trying to do normal things (and by "gains" I mean tiny, itty bitty increments of progress...)

Your body cannot a) fight all of the infections and viral loads going on in your body and b) process all of the treatment and killing going on and also support a "normal" busy and active lifestyle. It ain't gonna happen. And the more you push it, the more you will run yourself into the ground. And the further you do that, the harder it will be to recover and then you'll be faced with not being able to do anything at all. Sorry - tough love time. I been there. I lost an entire year of tx because I kept trying to push it - which sometimes was making a meal for myself - it was too much and I paid for it.

ANTIMICROBIALS
Next it's time to get back to the antimicrobial protocol. The tests are VERY unreliable and you're probably better off going by symptoms, which is what most of us end up doing. It will be VERY difficult, if at all possible) to find an MD who will administer more IV abx. You probably need to consider oral abx PLUS herbal antimicrobial protocol. I would not rely on one or the other solely. There is a lot of info about both on this forum - might have to post specific questions about specific protocols.

The DMSO might help make the antimicrobials more effective.

Pirouette... I see Japanese Knotwood everywhere for Lyme treatment and is listed as an antiviral... Is that a good one? Any adverse effects from it.

Japanese knotweed is good - it is also an anti-inflammatory. But I would not rely on it for the level of antiviral that it sounds like you need. I would implement more.

There are other members on the forum who can speak to Buhner better than I can so I hope they stop by to respond.

Also - it's VERY common with multi-vitamin supplements for them to be ineffective. Some manufacturers have actually admitted that they know people look for the product with the longest list of components but they fill it with all of the cheapest components. So, it's possible you have a great product - I don't know. But I do know it's common for most people to need specific vitamins, minerals and less of "everything" and fillers.

Regardless of which protocol you start with - ALWAYS always always start slow with low doses and also build your detoxing as you go. And slowly increase antimicrobials until you get to optimal doses. This is one advantage over abx because you can manipulate herbal doses much more easily.

Thank you I appreciate it. Actually those symptoms was before I was on the IV Rocephin. It was super scary and was amazed how quickly the IV med improved my condition. These days I'm working from home. Have good and bad days/moments. But my mornings are so gross. Shaky, weak, higher heart rate, nervous. I know this is a back and forth things so enjoy the ride kind of thing but I'd really like to get over this extreme fatigue. I started coconut oil thinking that the pos EBV might be contributing to it. I read that I should I take 1-3TBSP per day... Well I'm up to 2 tsp and got a little headache. Haha! On a positive note, today (after about 11) has been a great day. God is good!! Keep the advise coming. I appreciate it. Being on the IV Rocephin and the additional things I've mentioned, I was considering adding cats claw and otoba bark? With a Lyme/Babs/EBV dx is there anything else I should begin first. I see all herbs are ok with abx? I also saw a combo tincture for EBV from Sage consulting and Apothecary. Any advise there?

I take my Buhner herbs mixed together, but when I've taken lemon balm, I took it separately. I got the glycerin formula and didn't want to mix it with the alcoholic tinctures. The lemon balm also has a pleasant taste and soothing feel to it, so I take it last🙂

Sorry about my confusion in the previous post. Glad to hear the abx make you better not worse, as I mistakenly thought. My brain has been worse for the past week.

It is called Sweet Annie - Artemisia annua. The most common used herb for malaria and diarrhea.

Buhner likes Sida Acuta much better than artemisinin or artemisia. (buhnerhealinglyme.com/herbs/whole-herb-dosage-for-artemisinin/)

Sorry I'm a little confused. So I should use the Sweet Annie with N-acetyl cysteine? What are the dosages?
