Cipro and bartonella

about a month ago, I was put on cipro for 5 days due to colitis unrelated to lyme. Two days after I started, I had zero of my lyme symptoms, but attributed this to the fact that the colitis was causing so much pain that my system was focused on that rather than lyme. Once I stopped the cipro, I started feeling my lyme symptoms a few days later.

However, I am now reading that while having serious side effects, cipro can be great for bartonella. Do you think it is possible that my bart symptoms could have cleared so quickly with cipro, or unlikely? Obviously it didn't lead to eradication of the bugs, but this is the only period during which I felt completely well over the past 6 months.

Very unlikely that a few days of Cipro could eradicate Bart. Levaquin and Cipro are very good for Bart but have a black box warning and some people have permanent neuro and/or tendon damage.

I had tolerated most all ABX and Herbs for Lyme/Bart/Babs pretty well. But Levaquin hit my Achilles tendon after 19 days and I stopped. Six months later I tried Cipro with various ABX and herbal combos for about 10 months and it helped greatly.

It is quite possible that the Cipro removed enough gram negative bacteria to allow you to feel well or normal. An overgrowth of these bacteria could be what is causing your issues.

tickbite after about 19 days the levaquin also started to hit my achilles tendon and i had to stop. cipro did the same thing but i lasted over 3 weeks on it.

good drugs to hit double walled gram negative pathogens like bart but they do have risks. too bad i couldn't take them.

For the record, my achilles tendon at one point got really painful treating 100% naturally! I'm really interested in trying cipro honestly as I've tried a more powerful combination of supplements and turned out just fine. I had on/off burning while peeing three weeks ago, which I assume is a prostate/bladder infection, but it's probably just my body kicking bart's butt lol
