Does anyone know anything about toradol?

I did read that Toradol has blood thinning properties - so ginger might not be a good idea while you're on it.

I also read it's a steroid - I hope it's really low dose - because we shouldn't be on steroids when we have these infections.

Ugh. OK. My doc is a little wham bam thank you mame sometimes. She just set it up and gave it to me. I don't think it did very much. My lower back is really hurting too now.

What's the problem with steroids?

When over-the-counter medicines don't work for my migraines, I usually go to the Urgent Care Clinic or Emergency Room and get an injection of Toradol.

My family Doctor (a young Osteopath) told me that taking Toradol orally is a bad idea, due to the possibility of "...ulcers, bleeding, or holes in the stomach or intestine."

Ahhh - I edited my post - a few minutes later to remove the steroid part - because I don't think that's correct! Sorry!

IV Toradol is a wonderful drug, just ask anyone who has ever had kidney stones.

Oral Toradol, not so much.

Hmm. Didn't realize it did anything for kidney stones. What does it do? Just pain relief?

Pain relief equivalent to morphine.

A great story from years ago when I was body building. I owed an archery manufacturing company and was attending a hunting show selling products. After several days of being on my feet and not staying hydrated, I started hurting and throwing up. I had on an expensive embroidered shirt and didn't want to ruin it so I took it off and was wearing what I call a "wife beater" t-shirt. My sister took me to the hospital and since we didn't know exactly where it was, it took a while to find it. In that time, I had deteriorated to the breaking point. If you have ever had kidney stones, perhaps you know what I am talking about. I had done everything I could to stop the pain and nothing was working. I was mentally broken in the car as we pulled up to the ambulance entrance at the hospital and my sister dropped me off. I go in all muscled up wearing jeans and that wife beater and just collapse on the desk in front of the receptionist. I say "I need some Toradol." She replies with "Sir, you are going to have to" and I raised up and slammed my fist on the counter as hard as I could almost breaking the desk. I yelled "I need some Toradol right now!!!!" It was extremely violent. They had me in the back with IV Toradol before they even knew what my name was.

At that point, I just didn't care but it made a good story.

Moral of that story............eat alkaline foods.
