Hi MsZaiger -
I'm sorry you're in the "Lyme maze" - it is quite familiar to most of us here.
I agree with everything Jo mentioned.
It's tough to know where to start but take the issues one at a time. There are generally 3-4 things to try to address/reduce first before you're ready for an optimal approach to Lyme & Co. so that your immune system isn't overloaded and you have the best chance for success:
- Improve GI health/immune function
- Reduce viral loads
- Reduce yeast/fungal overgrowth
- and implement a solid detoxing routine - which you're already doing.
The IBS is really just a name for a group of symptoms but the underlying cause can be many things, including yeast/fungal overgrowoth and Lyme and many other GI imbalances. You have a good diet so that's a start but you should cut out sugar altogether until your yeast/fungal overgrowth is well under control.
It's a good idea to implement some healing methods while you work on the y/f overgrowth. Here is a lot more info on yeast/fungal overgrowth to help you figure that out:
Y/FO post in the "New to Lyme?" thread:
www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=30&m=1606610&g=3644275#m3644275The Lysine is good for viruses but if you're like me, you need much more than just Lysine when so many other things are going on. There are quite a few natural antivirals that you can also implement - most often, more than just EBV is involved with Lyme infections - the ticks can carry much more than just Lyme:
Lysine
Olive leaf
Oil of oregano
Licorice
Houttuynia
Ginger
Chinese Skullcap
Astragalus
(there are many other herbs that have anti-viral properties)
Provocation Neutralization
Samento
Reishi mushroom
Androgaphis
Japanese knotweed
Cat's claw
Mullaca38
Hope this is helpful -
