Its like all the other muscle tightness. I treated my jaw before it got worse using variations of trigger-point release and active release (deep pressure holding with movement). Dentist surprisingly knew about
this and suggests chiropractors to patients wit TMJ,. He does not believe the TMP mouth pieces are the answer.
Most older chiros that do more than just "cracking" will know what I just mentioned. It takes 1-2 minutes. Its prob on you tube. Its the opposite of what one might think or has been told- localized applied pressure will get circulation going and it will start to heal. With lyme, it will just heal slower. Do nothing and it might get worse.
This was such an eye
opener once I learned all of this. At the same time I imagine some readers cringe and think I'm nuts. I'm not. Convention medicine is nuts - they are clueless about
muscles and tendons. FORCED circulation starts the healing process in tissue..It can be that simple. I cured my TMJ and do simple 20 second jaw massage during times of stress. A Chiro showed me how because I asked and he knows that what lyme does sucks. So this is worth a try, its to simple not to try it.
Of course if you have a concentrated infection right in the jaw, well thats different. I think Trav had that.
