Igenex Test Result - help?

Hi everyone,

I just got my Igenex test results and I'm disappointed (I was so hoping for a clear answer to what I'm suffering from and whether I should continue this treatment). I'm struggling to interpret the results. Any help would be appreciated.

So basically my tests are negative and I looked up a couple of links but it's hard for me to make sense of the info I got. The bands themselves are as follows:

The IgM I have
41+
and 93+
From the links I understand this means which means FlaB flagellin? and an immunodominant protoplasmic cylinder antigen, associated with the flagellum [specific for Bb]. It also notes cross-reactive?


The IgG I have

18 ++ which means p18 flagellin fragment - notes cross reactive

23 Ind which means indeterminate on OspC

41 Ind which means indeterminate on FlaB - notes cross reactive

45 Ind which means indeterminate on early, persistent, and specific markers of HGE infection- notes cross reactive

58 ++ (not GroEL) - notes cross reactive

93 Ind which is indeterminate for an immunodominant protoplasmic cylinder antigen, associated with the flagellum [specific for Borellia Burgdoferi]


I also had a may or may not indicate an active infection on HGA IFA - IgM which I believe means anaplasmosis.

Thanks Girlie. I have lived all over the world fortunately or unfortunately I was just thinking about leptospirosis - which was quite common in one country I had lived in.

Also as you found out the Igenex test criteria are now that for a positive you need of 23, 31, 39 and 41.

You don't need all 4 of those bands.
From their site:

Positive If two or more of the following bands are present: 23-25, 31, 34, 39, 41 and 83-93 kDa.

Exception: Negative: If only bands 41 kDa and 83-93 kDa are present.

Indeterminate If only bands 31 and 41kDa OR only bands 31 and 83-93kDa are present.

Note: An indeterminate result could be due to presence of antibodies to viruses or other spirochetes. Therefore, the following confirmation test of an Indeterminate Western Blot IgM result is recommended: Test # 488 – 31 kDa Epitope Test IgM.

Negative If only bands 41 and 83-93kDa from the positive criteria are present OR if test result does not meet either positive or indeterminate criteria.

Does anybody have any opinion on my results above? I wouid so appreciate it.
In all these years of suffering I think this is the first time I actually posted my results.

It took me reading over and over again to understand, but it's worth the trouble.

But definitely is a clinical diagnosis. Also as this video explains, "lyme" hides from the immune system, so the test can come back the way yours did, because the immune system is not "seeing" the borrelia ("lyme") clearly, but just "a little"

Yes I have done tons of different treatments over the years. I did go to a LLMD a few years back but he treats with abx and I don't want to live on it.

I started Buhner recently. I am not up to the max dosages yet.

I was just wondering if my results could be a cross reaction with something else and I have just not been treating for the right bacteria.

Suppose it was syphilis. That's scary!!!!!!!!

Many years ago I was dating a guy that I found out after the fact that he was a real player. Ugh!!!

I am now married to a very good guy. No playing around!! LOL

My FTA result was negative.

But it still makes me worried.

I agree with the fact that the symptoms are different but for some reason its always in the back of my mind.

I guess the treatment is easier but there is that stigma!!!!
