Amoxicillin without Probenecid?

Hi there,

I was taking Rifampicine + Minocycline + Azythromicine + Artemisine. Because my platelets count was going down, my LLMD changed Azythromicine to Amoxicillin.

What surprises me is that she is not prescribing Probenecid with the amoxi in order to keep higher blood levels on the abx.

The majority of you taking amoxi are also taking Probenecid? Or don't?

I know some LLMD's do not prescribe the Probenecid with amoxy.

I'm not sure why this is. I think THE Dr. J. does not prescribe it.

Mine did.

i've been on amox for 9 months and not taking probenecid.

i've been on amox, bactrim, artemisinin and enula for 8 months and i'm finally beating back babesia duncani. nasty persistent bugger.
