Has anyone been here? I am surprised that there is no mention of it in past threads.

This is the place that Ally Hilfiger credits to putting her lyme in remission, and is a hotspot for other celebrities as well. I have spoken to two people who are now in remission from there, and they say everyone they meet from there is better as well.

This sounds too good to be true. I cannot find much information on the center, but I don't really expect people who can pay 50k for treatment to be active on forums or leaving reviews on yelp.

Although prohibitively expensive, is there anyone here who has heard about this place and if the treatment it offers is effective?

I find it odd, though, that we can't find more info on them. I scoured the web, forums and FB groups and there's hardly any mention of them. I feel if they had the magic pill, silver bullet, etc, we'd all be hearing about it and flocking there en masse for treatment. I know it's all alternate and you're there for several weeks once treatment starts, but I don't have any specifics on the actual treatment.

That's what I'm wondering . I don't recall it ever being mentioned on this forum.
Yet we hear about the Hansa centre quite a bit.

..And if it has a high success rate for Lyme - I think it would be known very quickly. That news would travel fast.

I just came across this blog if anyone has questions my son is being treated at NYCIM I would be happy to help if I can. - Dee

My son started the last week of June. Up until now he has been preparing for lyme treatment. They first work on getting metals out of the body while strengthening the immune system. We have been going three days a week as well as many supplements. It is correct that you must do all recommended therapies or they will not treat you. The following is a list of therapies my son has done.
ACMOS Energy Balancing
Airnergy Oxygen Therapy
Biomagnetic Therapy
Biocharger
Biomodulatorr Microcurrent Treatment (BMT)
Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation Therapy
Neural Therapy
Matrix Regeneration Therapy (MRT)
NAD Brain Restoration (BR+) Therapy

Sounds like a lot but it goes rather quickly. Each time you go they do several therapies at a time. each visit lasts about 2 - 3 hrs. Like I mentioned above we are now starting the antimicrobials. They have also suggested a few extra therapies that will cost an additional 20K but these are not mandatory. When I asked when will I see improvement I was told things will get worse before they get better and it has in some ways. When I press them they have all said six months to a year. I have talked to other patience that have recovered and are doing well several years after treatment. If you want I can tell you their stories. I think it's important to hear them because I had decided not to do the treatment until I spoke to all these wonderful people. Many come from all over the US and many more from other countries.

Please understand that my son was so sick. He had lyme with all the co-infections. My son was headed to college. High honors throughout high school which was not easy since he was a classified student, He played viola and studied with the Ma family and was set to play Carnegie Hall when this hit like a ton of bricks. He was in a great film program and had just won the NYS award for filming a PSA. I'm just telling you this because for us this torn our world apart. within a short period of time he was home schooled, forgot how to or didn't want to play the viola. He was asked to leave the film program which he loved so much. He has been to so many doctors I've lost track. He has had encephalitis, a heart attack and only leaves the house for his treatments. I'll tell you what I told my husband we can pay this with his college savings or we can wait for him to get better on his own. Yes the cost of this is sickening and I would just love to shake the doctor and say please help everyone. Isn't that what you're suppose to do help people? I think the total cost by the time we are done will probably be about 45k about the same cost as one year of college.

I will continue to post as my son hopefully gets better. We need to help each other along this road we're on. I have been to some greedy doctors that promised the world only to be disappointed. I remember saying to my husband about one doctor that he probably checks the cushions in the waiting room sofa to see if any change fell out of our pockets when we leave. There are doctors that really tried and I thank them. I'm going to post what we are doing and how my son reacts. I'm not going to give my opinion just what exactly is taking place. What's good for one person may not work for the next. The people on this forum are right there is very little info. out there on this place (NYCIM). I couldn't find it but you forge ahead and hope you don't do more harm.

The last time I posted it was 8/4 and I was informed that my son would need an additional 20K worth of treatment. We did the additional treatments which came to an additional 10K not 20K. All treatments were completed last week and new blood work was done. Yesterday I was informed by NYCIM that although there are no traces of lyme and/or co-infections additional treatments would be required. This would entail an additional 10K and at least 4 days a week for 3-5 hours each day. At this point I think we should do the additional treatment but this really has to be my sons decision. I was told after treatment it would get worse before it gets better and that is true. He's not as bad as he was at times during his illness but he is worse than when we started treatment. His hands are clenched into very tight fists, he won't touch anything that other people have touched (door knobs, chairs, towels, etc.) he has OCD's about everything. He is not really leaving the house anymore because he doesn't want to run into anyone and have to shake hands. The one improvement I've seen is his handwriting. Before all of this started he had beautiful handwriting as his illness progressed his hand writing became so bad it looked more like hieroglyphics. He's kept a journal for the last three years for the last two years you should not read a word of it. He would ask me to read it and I would look at the writing and be horrified. This week I have so much hope I'm excited to say I was able to read every word he wrote.

Just curious what they did to treat his encephalitis?

I was just reading a pamphlet today about PANDAS that describes some of your sons symptoms to a T. They specifically mentioned handwriting changes and OCD as two of the biggest clues.

Has your son tried IVIG at all along with treating his infections?

The doctor I used was the one in the book and movie Brain on Fire. Dr. N is a God according to all my sons other doctors but I still have a very ill son. He did IVIG for 7 cycles - At home with a nurse - every three weeks - 4 days per week for 6 hours. Unrelated to IVIG my son had a heart attack and because the IVIG uses so much fluid he could not continue safely. The other thing Dr. N thought about because of the heart issue was plasma transplant but he didn't think it was worth the risk. Most important he immediately put him on Memantine 10MG 2xs per day to stop any further damage to his brain. Hope this helps. I wish you the best Dr. N works in NY.

Hi, Pagogo. It must be heartbreaking to see your child suffer so much. You clearly love him so much and are fighting for him very hard. Never underestimate what a blessing that is for him. I'm so sorry for what you have been going through.

Unfortunately in a privatized healthcare system, new therapies and breakthroughs often happen when the 1% takes notice of an issue and devotes money to it, sometimes in the form of treatment centers. Best case scenario, these centers figure some stuff out and it becomes more mainstream eventually. Worst case scenario, it's basically a scam. But we have to keep trying, right? So we all make whichever decision seems best at the time.

I hear from a lot of people that their Lyme specialist is the best, the most well-regarded, the most famous, the top specialist, etc. I hear it so much - about so many different doctors, with so many different approaches, with so many patients still very sick years later - that it doesn't mean much to me anymore. When I first got sick, I definitely needed to believe that my doctor was especially great, and I would have been very impressed by those superlatives, but these days not so much. I'm not saying no one is good, but personally I would prefer a responsive, creative, empathetic practitioner over a "top" practitioner.

I really deeply wish there were trustworthy practitioners offering effective, affordable treatment. It's so sad that we all have to become experts on all of this and experiment with our own bodies to figure out what works. It's such a struggle. As I said before, I'm so glad that you child has you on his side!

Thank you for updating us. Please don't be discouraged. Explore other modalities of treatment and other sources of care, but don't despair. People do get better. There is more life ahead for your child!

I just went for initial evaluation at NYCIM. I have diagnosed autoimmune diseases and the report from NYCIM is various Lyme diseases and EPV, heavy metals etc. The works basically ! The treatment plan for just 6-7 weeks is already at 32k. Want some hardcore evidence that it works. From what I can see, no one has had total success. Can someone please email me who DR.
