Hi,
I got a call from my internist today saying he wants me to see infectious control doctor this week. My AB IGG & IGM test came back positive on 12/4. I have an updated one now where IGG Western Blot is Negative (I have 4, not 5). My B Burgdorferi Antibody IGM Immunoblot is Positive (39,23,41 KDa). How can one be negative and one be positive?
All I know is I don't feel well and have not for several weeks/couple of months which I chalked up to a lot of stress. Fatigue is a given. I was in the ER two weeks ago for severe abdominal cramping, vomiting & diarrhea (they said stomach flu). I now have an upper respiratory thing going on, coughing, wheezing, not sleeping well. Intermittent fevers/chills. My migraines are "different" is all I can articulate. I've dealt with facial rashes (they said seborrheic dermatitis), parotid gland/salivary gland infections. The past two days my fingers "spasm" (the pinky and ring finger go nuts for just a few seconds to maybe a minute). My heart flutters and I already know I have a very mild valve issue, diagnosed last year (left ventricular diastolic dysfunction). If I take a deep breath, I feel very faint. I've lost nearly 10 lbs in under two weeks (I do eat, what I can, but I can stand to lose the weight but not like this). I just feel poorly. The worst thing of late is my memory! Just this morning I was in tears because I just cannot find my new Kindle that I have like 30 books on already or its cord, there are only two places I keep my stuff and I haven't been out of the house with it. I just used it over the weekend! I've missed appts, I put stuff in wrong places (I'm usually kinda Ocd) but I do know my face cream doesn't go in the freezer. I'm a paralegal & administrative manager by trade (though have been off work since my mom died and my son had a suicide attempt last spring). My memory has always been sharp. (I am 55).
I feel frustrated, sad and scared. My Lymes diagnosis two summers ago supposedly was caught early and I did the 21 day cycle of Doxy religiously. I asked my Dr. "now what?" and she said "Nothing, it's done, you're in the clear." Huh...
Please advise what a negative IGG western blot but a positive IGM Antibody immunoblot means in laymans terms. Thank you SO MUCH.
