Skin dry and eyes dry with Bartonella?

Hi
I'm trying to work out why my dry eye condition has significantly worsened since October ,l think that's when Bart kicked in
Does antibiotoc protocol help this?
I guess lm really wanting to know if people have healed from Bart,and does it take months/ years...I'm struggling to manage degree of dryness,it impacts on everything, from driving to hiking ( I'd love to ski again but an too ill just now)

I suddenly developed dry eyes after ramping up my treatment. I use Systane preservative-free drops. At first I needed it 4-5 times a day, now I usually only use it at night, sometimes in AM, and some days not at all. My LLMD was confident it was caused by my TBD’s and would go away with treatment.

I scratched my cornea because of rubbing them from dryness and that was an awful few days. I found a soft ice pack (peas or rice wrapped in a towel) on the edge of my eye helped with the itching.

As far as ABX, I’m on doxy, biaxin, and Mepron

I've had bouts of extreme dry eyes and dry mouth for over two years. After it started I had my doctor test me for Sjogren's and RA, as I had severe joint stiffness, too. Tests came back negative. I had antibodies for both, but they were in the normal range. However, a normal, healthy person wouldn't have antibodies.

I do have bartonella. I'm also peri menopausal. I still have dryness of various kinds, including my hands and skin. I can't say for sure if it's from bart, hormones, or autoimmune illness. Estrosense did seem to help, although I still have some bouts of dryness since being on Estrosense.

Dry eyes are indeed common. I have it as well and have Bartonella. Bartonella is actually one of the hardest tickborne infections to treat so it may take a while to get improvement.

Darn it!
I have so many Bart symptoms( uk blood test negative, but am immunocompromised so think it'll be a tough ride).
The main things are
The anxiety/ rage
The vision / eye pain from dryness
Extra dry mouth which is painful ( l think this is a Bart offering too?)
The skin dryness
Knees hurting too
Gl problems, just very dry and uncomfortable.

Is Bartonella curable with antibiotics ? I'm hoping to see improvements once l get on enough of them!!
I'm going gluten free which l think helps IBS kind of things and inflammation generally.
It sounds a long haul, So l am glad these forums are so lively and supportive. Thanks!

I have bart and have dry eyes and skin. I also have to monitor thyroid as I'm hypothyroid, and the lyme/bart plays with that too. When my thyroid is off, the dryness is much worse. So you may want to check yours out if you haven't done so recently.

Thanks, I have had lots of tests as had autoimmunity brewing prior to the bite this June...all were fine but l probably need retesting now as l have a slow of symptoms.
I think the internal tremor/ buzzing is one of the most disconcerting Bart ones!

I had the internal tremor, too. It was one of my early symptoms. I remember describing it to the doctor as feeling like I had chills on the inside. That was in 2009. In the last year and a half, I've also had bouts of visible tremors and shaking, though I rarely have it anymore.
