Could i have candida

about 9 months ago i drank some beers and took acetaminophen the following day. I got terrible pains in chest fast heart rate and thought i overdosed. After the next few weeks i got really itchy and many other symptoms. Now i still feel pretty bad better than 9 months ago, but some of my symptoms now are numbness in hands and feet, tremors throughout my whole body, shaking in face, hands, legs, constant sinus problems, cold hands and feet, rapid heart rate (hasnt happened lately), i get itchy for no reason about once ebery couple of months and it lasts a couple of days, alcohol intolerance, brain fog, constant fatigue (always tired), and generally feeling unwell. I took a months worth of doxycycline, (for lymes and it went away)when i was 17 now 19 im not sure if this screwed up my natural candida, or what, but i went to the doctors multiple times (a couple months ago) and they said i had a reoccurence of lymes, i took 2 rounds of doxy then went to a specialist and they said after 3 full 30 day doxy doses i should be fine. I am now seeing a pcp that i am about to drop because she thinks its anxiety and depression. I am taking garbage antidepressants now, and when they dont work im done taking them. Anybody have any advice, dont wanna live like this only 19 years old. Or do i have a more major disease like parkinsons or multiple sclerosis. Thanks everyone

Well, first off you could be allergic to beer. I used to drink beer in my 20's and then I started getting a stuffy nose every time I drank one. Then I got itchy. It took awhile but I found out I am allergic to hops. So you could be allergic.

As for the rest, well, I don't think you treated your lyme disease long enough so you relapsed again. Or not really a relapse since you probably weren't healed to begin with.

A general rule most lyme literate medical doctors (LLMD) say is to treat for 2-3 months after your symptoms have all gone away. So I doubt your 2 rounds was enough.

And for a doctor to tell you that in 3 rounds you will be fine, well, that makes me skeptical of that doctor.

You really should find a LLMD to treat you.

Thanks for the reply, i used to drink when i was like 16 up to 19 and i would get trashed and be fine, i dont drink anymore period its been months but thanks for the advice. I tried different remedies like oregano oil and cats claw and i did electric shock treatment for lymes, and none of it seemed to help i took doxy about 2 months straight and had no stop or improvement of symptoms, the only thing i have noticed is when i ate 3 or 4 cloves of garlic i felt really crappy and tired vinegar also has same effect.

You can't power house lyme away. Lyme treatment is slow and methodical. You have to be sneaky to kill these buggers.

If you bring out the big guns, they will go and hide very deep and wait to come out again when you aren't looking.

I know, it sound funny, but true.

So don't think that 3-4 cloves of garlic will kill it. Of course if you are not used to garlic you will definitely feel crappy. Speaking of which, it gave me diarrhea big time when I ate my first whole clove.

When you do the vinegar, it can only be a splash in a huge glass of water. Don't overdo it.

With everything you have to be super gentle and slow. Otherwise you are killing more bugs than your body can eliminate. Be a stealth warrior.

I still think it would be wise to find a lyme doctor. Or an herbalist.

I know how you must be feeling- I started having lyme symptoms when I was your age (I am 22 now). I wanted it to be a quick fix, and I wanted to be better right away so that I could feel like a "normal" college kid. Welp, that never ended up happening. I still had lyme, stayed on the antibiotics, and continued to party to ease the pain of feeling so depressed, anxious, fatigued, etc. which comes from this disease. I eventually stopped that when I decided I wanted to be in control of my life.

Don't give up yet, if I were you I would speak to a naturopathic doctor who is well versed in lyme, or a lyme literate doctor to help you deal with these issues.

I had candida BECAUSE I had lyme and a coinfection, my immune system was too weak to fight it off. I am healing it now and it has really helped. There is hope! Don't give in to doctors telling you it is depression and anxiety. It IS depression and anxiety, but it's also lyme, if that makes sense. Good luck, the people on this forum are here to help you.

IMO, the intraluminal pH change caused by borrelia combined with a manganese decrease causes a decrease in various lactobacillus species and allows for an increase in candida growth. This could help explain why many Lyme patients improve when taking Florastor as it can competitively compete with candida. Candida has a synergistic effect with borrelia that mutually benefits each organism. As Lyme Disease progresses, aluminum toxicity increases. Candida binds/sequesters the aluminum to decrease aluminum toxicity to the patient and increases its survivability.

Antibiotics increase this process.

Interesting. I think I probably didn't get candida because I only took 1 round of antibiotics and 2 I eat super healthy with minuscule amounts of sugar. We have seafood 3-4 times a week and sprouted pumpkin seeds go on our salads and are in my trail mix. Anyway,I am guessing.

Yet, there are people here that have taken antibiotics for more than 2 years and they say they have not gotten candida. Is it that they are doing generous amounts of probiotics?

There also seems to be a connection with candida and leaky gut. Supposedly a leaky gut can allow candida into the blood stream. Not surprisingly, many people have both. Both can cause itching all over.

Even though antibiotics increases candida overgrowth possibility, people never on long term antibiotics can get systemic Candida too.

No test is perfect, but the conventional candida antibodies blood test does a pretty good job of detecting it in blood. Detects past and present Candida and is a "conventional test" so is usualy covered by insurance lab coverage.

A few things.

#1 Dude, how do you save those files like you are? What are you doing?

#2 Everyone that is older has candida, the question is, how much and is it enough to elicit harmful effects? In most people, it doesn't cause any issues.

#3 If you eat seafood 3 or 4 times a week, I'd be examining my iodine levels and for heavy metal contamination. Depending on what seafood you are eating, your heavy metal load may be too high. Candida can help reduce that heavy metal load.

4. if we assume that everyone that has Lyme has dysbiosis, it makes the treatment easier. Like Astro said, leaky gut is an issue with candida and also gram negative anaerobes. I'd go as far to say that gram negative anaerobes, candida, and protozoans all combine to cause problems. That basically means that eating meat is bad, eating carbs is bad, and eating fat is bad. That doesn't leave anything to eat.

5. Eating pumpkin seeds is good for you, but how do they keep those pumpkin seeds from spoiling? They cover them with omega 6 laden hydrogenated oil's. Eating a lot would increase your omega 6 level which alters your omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. Omega 3 is anti-inflammatory so we need more, not less.

6. I don't believe anyone eats healthy. There are people that eat better than others, but it is so difficult to eat healthy in our culture. The foods they eat that they think are healthy can often be shown to be contaminated. This is one way our environment effects our health. There is so much pollution.

There are other similar services like /goo.gl (by Google) and /tinyurl.com, but I find Bitly to be preferable.

Thanks for the info, but you are incorrect in the above statement. You have posted many things that have been beneficial to me. I look at many of the links people post and you have posted some good ones. I look at the link but even more importantly, I look into the references. I don't remember which one but not long ago, you gave me almost a week's worth of work. My thinking processes are sometimes different than other people and I am looking for things that most people don't even care about. An example from this morning was about a CBS699T mutation. It took 30 minutes to look up the 63-kDa subunit of the CBS gene and cross reference it to heat shock proteins expressed by bacteriophages. I got hits from Leptospirosis, Borrelia, Ricketsia, Strep, and I stopped after that. Too many without enough specificity.

So in actually, I should be thanking you.
