Any other lymies with esophageal strictures?

Do any of you have esophageal strictures?

I developed my first seven years ago and had it surgically ballooned. It appears it is back, again. Curious if anyone has had their doctor say this could be a co-infection issue or if it is just me.

I have had some issues with my esophagus...had some trouble swallowing early on before I was diagnosed...
Sometimes I would choke when I was swallowing food - especially if it was dry.

I had a barium swallow X-ray (regret that!) and then was sent to the ENT Dr. He put a flexible tube with a camera through my nose to look at my throat - then had me chew a wafer and swallow.

He said nothing showed up - no irritation on vocal cords and I was swallowing just fine.

Must have caught me on a good day!

Sorry to hear you had the choking issues, too. Sounds like yours resolved with treatment.

Did the barium swallow make you sick?

My throat does bother me sometimes still...but not like before...no choking on food...no sensation of a lump ...but I do get some phlegm sometimes usually during the night.

No, the barium swallow didn't make me sick...but I just regret some of the X-rays I've had - the radiation.
