My anxiety and depression is still thought the roof

Not sure I can take it anymore. Not sure of anything anymore...History of Lyme- BB, bart, babs, mycoplasma, EBV/CMV, Hashimotos, that is hard to clear. Had it since the 1990's... episodes of depression and anxiety since age 40.... now 60. Used to kill /squish ticks off my dog with my fingernails in a high tick area on east coast. I think my major depression (MDD) is making me feel hopeless, like a failure, exhausted from anxiety and mind looping that I can't make any decisions. Feel like I have dementia, ADHD, Alzheimers all in Going for a consult for TMS Saturday with my husband. Have done lots of herbs, treated by many different lyme practitioners...but never IV antibiotics and don't think I could handle anything right now... Just on herbals, and Cymbalta and its not working.. Been like this since August this time.....Just need to vent... and need encouragement... thanks. Why can't there be a test that says. YES YOUR ANXIETY and DEPRESSION is mainly caused by Lyme and infections in the BRAIN. Sorry for rambling but that is how my brain is working .

When I had anxiety - it was horrible...lucky for me it resolved on it's own.

So, you have tried antibiotics before...just not IV?

Thanks Girlie... the anxiety isn't lifting. My stomach is in knots all the time. Have it continually now. Its so painful emotionally... and the worst is I have not motivation to help myself. Trying everyday to keep myself involved and doing things but just feel like collapsing some day. The exhaustion is from the emotional fatigue, and not sure that is the infections though it does effect the nervous system.

Yes, tried antibiotics in the past years but not IV and not aggressively more mild Minocycline helped once but not the last time.

I have just ordered pasqueflower tincture as it’s supposed to help with anxiety will let you know if it’s helps...sorry to hear you are suffering

thank you Szabo...please let me know... I take theanine and I think It helps sometimes...but then again don't know anymore.. I've tried Lithium oritate, Same-E , PS- 100.

It's possible that your anxiety is from bartonella. Minocycline wouldn't treat that...you would need to add another antibiotic to it...Rifampin or Rifabutin are often used.

There's a CNS/Neuro protocol and that a few of us have been doing that has been working well dealing with neuro toxins and the symptoms that can cause such as anxiety and depression. Let me know if you are interested.

Holy Basil can really mellow you out to.

You have Hashi-...........are your latest thyroid levels good? Only 10% of Drs understand proper thyroid levels.

Low thyroid levels are responsible for depression and anxiety across the globe.

What are you taking? Bart is a nasty one for depression. I've had relief on sida cordifolia, knotweed, andrographis, houttuynia, oregano oil, vitamins A & D, and cat's claw.

Girlie-doctor feels depression is from Babesia. Took Beyond Balance Bab-1 and Bab2 drops (so many herbs in them) and it got worse now only taking one drop per day after stopping it for two weeks.

Astro- Thyroids are checked often and in normal range....on 65mg natur-thryoid, may ask about holy basil, and I have 5HTP and will have to ask my integrative psychiatrist since she doesn't like me to take so many thing she doesn't know about .

Decarte- the neuro toxin protocol would interest me... but my depression and anxiety is severe and desperate

At one time I went to anther Lyme specialist for nine months did well in the beginning with a slew of herbs and a very rigid protocol treating, toxins, molds, viruses, all the bugs, even some dental work , but then I got to a point and crashed with major anxiety and depression and got so scared and stopped.. this is my pattern. I get to a point and crash... then it goes away somewhat, I can sometimes go into a remission and then a cold or stress brings it back with fatigue, then anxiety, headache, sore throat, active EBV, depression. Sometimes I feel I have had this so long and it's not going to go away. I have such anxiety now that my body is shaking and have hand tremors/shakes. I think it is from anxiety about being anxious and being like this and trying to function in the real world with something no one really understands or gets. My family is getting tired of my down mood, always feeling doom and gloom from depression and fearful about the future. Thanks for letting me vent and share. Also wondering if anybody else has had that pattern of getting so far and then crashing, no treatment, then doing more treating, then crashing?

Unfortunately, the thyroid ranges are so wide that is very common for people on thyroid med to have hypo symptoms while still in range, but in the lower part of "in range". I happen to be one of these people.

Holy basil has an effect on adrenals, which have a direct effect on anxiety. 5- HTP is an amino acid (similar but different to your Sam-E) which has an effect on the brain neurotransmitters. Neither one of these builds up in the body, the effects prob last 6-10 hours at the most.

Anxiety can also be increased from insomnia. Stressed adrenals releasing to much cortisol at the wrong time also contributes hugely to anxiety. Many people in the lyme community assume they have lyme in their brain without correcting other body systems which can have a direct influence on brain function.

I had terrible anxiety when i started treatments for which I was prescribed some diazepam, i know this is not something you would want to take regularly but for some quick relief and to get some good sleep to get your head together so you can figure out the next move it was great. I now take it maybe 1 day per week when things are really bad and I have to sleep. It made a massive difference to me.

Just be very carefull it is addictive if you take to much or too often.
