There always has been and always will be insomnia help questions here.
Advil PM and generic Ibuprophen PM use Ibuprophen for the pain reducer, Aleve has Naproxen. These are seldom mentioned here.
The "sleep agent" in them: Aleve uses 25mg of Diphenhydramine HCL, (Benedryl is 25 mg Diphenhydramine HCL), the other two I mentioned use 38mg of Diphenhydramine Citrate - not the citrate version.
The 38mg of Citrate type of D seems to work better with less grogginess in my experience vs the 25mg of HCL.
They knock me out now, and worked at least half the time when I was on ABX. Slight grogginess the morning after unless I have time to sleep 10 hrs. Wish they came in a smaller dose.
The nsaid in them might be an issue if you have an ulcer. The "sleepy ingredient" in these seems way more effective than its cousins in most sleep aids. It might be the coating affecting the release time, I dont know.
If you cant sleep- thats a huge healing issue. Might want to try these if you tired of juggling around natural supplements to achieve some zzzzzz's.
In my mind Rx for sleep should be last resort, worse chemicals than the ones in the title.
