I was reading the other probiotic post replies with interest.
I developed sudden IBS-C in Sep 2015 and started probiotics shortly after. I have used different brands in a range of prices, quality, and counts. None of them have had any effect on my gut function. I've never stopped taking them. I've also used store bought goat kefir and fermented sauerkraut. The kraut did cause some pain, but I seem to tolerate the kefir okay.
Regardless, none of these have brought any improvement in my gut function and my gut continues to worsen with increased inflammation and now abdominal pain that I didn't used to have. (Trying to clean up my diet now. It's reduced some inflammation, but just like my initial elimination diet two years ago, it hasn't resolved anything.)
I'm curious if any members had actual gut issues and found probiotics improved or resolved their existing gut issues.
