Weird chills -- babesia herx or flu?

I restarted an herb that actually in the past gave me the strongest babesia herx of any herb I've taken -- mimosa pudica. I have babesia duncani, and many of the herbs for babs don't seem to touch it (for me at least).

I hadn't taken it in a long time though, but this round have been on it maybe three weeks. I've felt a little different on and off on it but suddenly, I'm having not shaking chills (which I had w/ babs in the past) but pins and needles chills where I'm super cold, and then there is a pins and needles sensation all over my body and a feeling like my spine is so uncomfortable I want to crawl away from it. It just goes on and on, it doesn't really relent. At some points I feel like my teeth will start chattering. That has happened for me w/ chills before.

I read that chills in flu can precede fever though. Right now my temp is *low* -- like 97.9 -- not high, as I'm having the chills.

Any thoughts on whether this could be a babesia symptom versus this bad flu strain circulating around right now?

The flu would have body aches and higher fever-

I have a strange symptom - where I shiver internally....I don't know if it's considered chills or not.

It does get set off sometimes when I'm cold. And I have no tolerance for the cold.

It occurs more often now since I treated Babesia. I had to stop treating because I ran out of meds...and it's even worse since I stopped.

It's like my nervous system is on overdrive...I don't have tremors...it's all internal.

Hi Girlie, yes! That's a lot of what it feels like, esp. the weird feeling in my spine, that's really interesting. I too am very intolerant of cold now, to an extreme degree (I'm actually okay with heat though).

Have you noticed it flares when you see/hear something exciting...or a song you really like?

If I go to a movie at the theatre...and it's a 'stimulating' one - that combined with the loud sounds...my shivers will start...and up and down the spine.

I have wondered if it's adrenaline?

I get... jitters. Like internal shivers buzzing through my nerves. Once in a while, my whole body vibrates- I woke up in the middle of the night certain I had fallen asleep on top of my phone and it was vibrating, it was that strong that it felt like there had to be something physical on the outside.

What I’ve found is that external temp doesn’t matter. Some days I’m freezing and realize it’s 71° in the house (warm for us) but my feet feel like ice cubes. Other days I can keep it at 66° and feel fine. My body just does what it wants.

So yes, there are chills, cold hands, internal shivers, external shivers, and low body temp but they can happen independently of each other.

I haven’t had a drenching night sweat in a while. . I’m starting to miss it. At least I could detox while herxing.

Speak of the devil.. woke up at 5 am with my sternum vibrating in my chest.
Having a major Babs flare. Worst in 6 months

I just wanted to chime in and say thanks for describing the spine thing. I get that sometimes too, often accompanied by chills and extremely uncomfortable feelings in my lower abdomen & back & sometimes kidneys. Ugh! It’s intolerable, and I always found it hard to explain...

I think it’s definitely related to babs, not sure if it’s a herx or just a symptom for me. Seems like it’s not happening to me as much anymore, now that I’ve been treating awhile.
