Interesting researching DMSO. The FDA made medical researching it on humans after 1965- or at least publishing results illegal. And its not FDA aproved because they dont know what to do with it. There are some rat tests published though. Its a cheap byproduct of the wood pulp industry, it a turpin so to speak compatible with water. Upon goggling- many people use it, its on many "general" forums to. It was written about
many times during the running craze of the 1970's for repetitive motion injuries.
Even micro injuries (scar tissue and adhesions) inflamed during the healing process are like a bridge with lots of pylons in a river getting plugged up with floating debris. Theory is all the crud in your body that gets filtered by the liver is somewhat getting filtered by these plugged up injuries. The theory of DMSO, is it unlocks this natural crud in your tissues. After witnessing what is does to skin temporarily, this makes sense. So if this stuff has actual healing properties as opposed to a temporary pain covering band-aid, this would be how/why it works. It's literally a natural solvent thinning natural debris in your body to regain lost circulation in troubled areas of what our brains feel as "pain".
I've always mentioned that foam fitness rolling is a form of tissue detoxification, which it is. All the other manual muscle stuff I do and mention is just more aggressive detoxing of the area worked on. Unblocking inflammation dams and allowing new blood with its nutrients in is how tissue heals. Acute Inflammation is supposed to help heal, but in the long run , in chronic areas of repeated inflammation it becomes a blood "dam". That's what happens in repetitive motion injuries and areas subject to certain infections (LYME), or as I've recently learned, tissue exposed by excess cortisol for long periods - this is why chronic anxiety can also make some people sore.
My DMSO thoughts/observation/trial:
So it makes sense that (the above) manual tissue work and DMSO should work better together than alone. Yesterday morning I did some Gua-Sha muscle scraping on tight/sore areas which produces light busing from the capillaries (normal). Later yesterday I applied some DMSO to a few areas, I foam rolled and worked out.
This morning I applied more DMSO to the bruised areas of the "muscle scraping" technique of the previous day. I witnessed the bruising color go away in an hour, this usually stays there for four days. So, essentially, the DMSO cleared the "toxic debris blood pool" of the circulation dam previously mentioned in less than two hours - and it feels better. Gua-sha alone makes it feel better- but it needs repeating several times a week and is sore in between. Time will tell how long this lasts with the DMSO added, it seems to obviously speed up recovery time faster than expected.
I've decided to add scar tissue eating enzymes Nattokinase and Serrapeptase oral capsules and keep on taking D-Limonine for liver clean up. I would suspect all this debris dislodging can be hard on the liver.
(A human dunk tank of maybe 25% DMSO and water sounds ideal, who wants to try this first LOL?)
