Which lab is best for Bartonella test?

My daughter has been treated for Lyme, Bartonella and Babesiosis. It has been about a year and she is under the care of Dr. J in CT. She is still on antibiotics.

Her latest blood results have two different results for Bartonella. Quest was negative but Galaxy was 1:256, Her doctor only mentioned the Galaxy results and said she could have antibodies still because her body is fighting the infection.

Does anyone know which lab has the more sensitive test? Or anyone have experience with different results from different labs.

Testing isn't reliable. Many false negatives.

I would go with the Galaxy lab results.

Quest is not one of the better/reliable labs for lyme and co's testing.


Galaxy Labs is known to be one of the better labs for bartonella testing. It is expensive though.
The Bart guru (Dr. M) promotes that lab.
(Maybe he is part owner? I'm not sure)

Dr. J. in Connecticut (the 'older' Dr.) (if that's who your daughter is seeing) - is one of the best Lyme Peds Dr.'s IMO.

Thank you. That is what I thought. Just thought I would ask here because I know this forum is so knowledgeable.

And yes it is the "older" Dr. J. He is more wonderful than I was expecting. My daughter is doing so much better now.

Oh, that is great to hear. I only 'know' him from the Under Our Skin videos and what I've read on the internet...and certainly seems wonderful.

MDL labs was the only one to find my bartonella. I am seeing Dr M in Maryland, the bart guy, and he said MDL is a reliable lab

My bartonella showed up when I did testing through Accu Reference ( I wonder if anyone else uses this other than my ND)

dna connexions found my bart ...urine only no doc needed

An unknown lab here in Canada found my bart via pcr (blood) for 125$

That was after a full year of treatment
