Pink skin around navel

Sometimes I notice pink skin around my belly button. Does anyone know what this means?

Is the inside of the naval reddened? If so, you may have a fungal infection which can occur if you don’t dry the area after showering. Lotrisome cream applied daily usually cures it.

Hi WalkingbyFaith, if it comes and goes, and it's a faint red/pinkishness, it sounds like Bart. Does it itch too (before it fades)?

When I shower, one of the things I notice is that upon contact with hot water, I sometimes get reddish streaks on my thighs that come and go (this still happens occasionally- guess they're striae but they don't stay - just come and go.) They also don't have to be shaped like streaks - any reddishness/ pinkishness on the skin, is likely Bart. Again I'm not a med professional but this is just from my experience.

Even when not showering, sometimes I get reddish/pinkish areas on my arms or thighs etc. Since I only have Bart and never had this before in my life, it's definitely a sign of Bart. I don't know if its a way it helps me know where the Bart might be concentrated on - for instance, my thighs, my elbows, etc.

I haven't had itching with it. I notice it most in the shower too.

I'm convinced I've had Lyme and coinfections since birth or early childhood and spent most of my life thinking my symptoms were just part of who I was until I got wild, full blown symptoms at age 39. I'm 48 now and got much worse 3 years ago after a respiratory infection. It's so weird though that while I've been much worse the last few years, the lifelong mottled, splotchy skin has been far less noticeable in the past year.

Anyway, I get paranoid when the pink navel thing pops up, thinking I've got candida or parasites, especially since I haven't been on a clean diet. I'm doing better with the diet but have a long way to go.
