Good find LymeSick and thanks Dude.
As an example, in LymeSick's chart, it shows 6 catalysts for one step in the breakdown of ATP. When we have Lyme, some of our catalysts aren't there so this chart doesn't function like it is supposed to. Alternate pathways come into effect. So in essence, our metabolism pathways or as some call it, our detox pathways, become less effective. Methylation is a detox pathway and takes a big hit. If your detox pathways don't reduce to the point where they can't eliminate and breakdown products, you won't get sick. This is why some get sick and some don't and why some get very sick.
And I suppose there's no easy way to identify where and to what extent our pathways have stopped working and how to effectively fix them again, else we wouldn't all be here struggling and searching for answers. Not easy, but as you know, our methalation changes with lyme is also about
our individual genetic defects, many illness are.
Although it takes time, its not impossible to partially improve this. Looking at ones genes and reading / learning about
solutions to these pathways can improve your health. Some people have done this to some extent. Not completely as its truly work in progress. Of course there are some you probably cant change..yet.
Amino acids and certain minerals individually are cheap, and these can make positive changes if one does the detective work.
