The cheapest magnesium you can find (mag oxide) does not absorb into blood, thus is a laxative.
Absorb-able magnesiums which will end in "ate", have less laxitive effect.

I think if you've been constipated for awhile...and things aren't moving...then yes, you can get a stomach ache from constipation.
Drink lots of water, in addition to taking the magnesium.
Sometimes an enema will help....to get things 'out'.

It is amazing how much Lyme symptoms mimic mold sickness. Constipation seems to be a common one. I can feel a slightly herniated muscle that I was previously diagnosed with that I need to carefully attempt to strengthen before it gets worse. I am not sure how to do this so I feel my way through and just perform a series of contractions as best I can without risking exercise.
I am currently using Black Raddish. This along with OoO (orgeano) will help remove fungus deep in the intestine which often causes constipation if it is being caused by fungus.
I am still using a relatively large amount of multiple types of Magesiums which also helps keep things moving. I could feel Magnesium Threeonate working in the brain but only on the first day.
I have been told coffee enemas will also help this but have yet to attempt it.
