Rifampin Dosage

Just spoke with my LLMD about bartonella treatment. I am really excited and hoping this starts to resolve my symptoms.

She prescribed Zithromax 1 pill one time a day and then Rifampin 300 mg 1 cap. twice a day..

I have read on Marty Ross's website that he says Rifampin should be taking once a day as well but 2 caps.

Does anyone have any input on this?

There has been a shift in thought by the Lyme doctors from the 2 caps once a day to the 1 cap twice a day dosage.

I've been on it in the past and my LLND had me take both caps at the same time. I'm taking it now and he said to take one twice a day. I'm assuming that it's easier on our livers if the dosage is split but that's a guess. Maybe there has been some research....

I'm not sure which is the more popular dosing.

My LLND prescribes it 300 mg twice daily.

Dr. J. does as well.

I wonder what Dr. H says about this.

Maybe we should do a poll...lol.

300mg twice daily here. i started with 300mg once but my foot pain did not give in until doubling the dose.

But did you do the 600 mg once daily?

It's either 300 twice or 600 once.

300 once in the beginning. but only for the first 2 months. since then i use 300 twice.

I am on 300mg once a day, but I think this was to start off a bit slow because of my liver. If that is OK, maybe I'll increase

My LLMD says 1 pill 2 times per day
