Ivermectin or other antiparasitics for treating lyme Disease.

I've read this before (or something similar) and I think it does bring up some good points. I have used Ivermectin and Albendazole at times as it's the only thing that improved my skin issues (Morgellons symptoms).

I can't remember where I've heard or read it, but I do think it is becoming a part of some LLMD's protocols.

ivermectin is the 2nd most popular anti-parasitical given for people with lyme and co's. the #1 is alinia. this is becoming more of a mandatory staple in protocols for folks with these diseases like flagyl and/or tinidmax have been over the years.

alinia has hit me pretty hard when i've taken it. note bart has parasitical tendencies so it does have some effect against it.

you can get ivermectin on amazon for $15

and yes it says its for horses but its the exact same stuff they give to humans. Look at hte reviews and you can see plenty of people using it to great affect

iver actually won a nobel prize because of how many lives it saved in third world coutries

My doctor just prescribed Ivermectin for a month. I've tried everything else for babesia.

Have any of you taken the horse medicine?

Is the same care and scrutiny applied in the purity of veterinary medicine as in human medicine? It may be the same active ingredient, but do we know if the inactive ingredients are the same and the purity and quality controls are as stringent? Is there full disclosure of all ingredients? Why would even a veterinarian prescribed drug be available on Amazon?

Maybe Klinghardt is right. Maybe we should all be treating in proper order: parasites, then mold/yeast, then bacteria.

I didn't do it that way. I skipped treating parasites and went straight to bacteria. Some try to do all at the same time, which is probably counterproductive, too. I'm going to bring order of treatment up to my doc, who I will be seeing next month. No sense to keep wasting my time and money trying to do this my way. I need to get this right and get on with it already.

i have not but I know people who have and it worked just fine. The purity is the same as far as I know. Medication has to be shelf stable and the only way to do that is to make it pure. IF there were weird things in there it would not be shelf stable and vets would not be able to use it.

some LLMD's will treat biggest to smallest organism. some treat the other way. i think the former is the way to go for example babesia is 20x the size of bacteria like lyme and bart. these smaller organisms and other parasites can hide from the abx and immune system by sheltering under babesia.

if i were an LLMD i'd treat babesia first.

If you don't mind my asking, did you ever do a serious parasite treatment? If so, what affect did it have on your babesia treatment?

Just my opinion but if you immune system is open to lyme its most likely open to various parasites. One way to make your body stronger is to kill off the parasites. Making your body stronger is the key to regaining your health

I did the horse Iver sandwiched in a saltine. 5 rounds and as high as 60mg but started slow. It stopped the skin crawls so after the 5 rounds. After this I determined it should have killed whatever it is capable of killing.

After I would only take it once when I got the crawls and only a dose as it would relieve the feeling. Fluconazole also stop the crawls. Then the Carnicom protocol stopped the crawls and it was the safest of them all. It allowed me to get of the meds.

I have reordered the supplements but am about to run out so things might get weird again.

Has anyone seen the movie Annihilation ? It feels as if something like that is going on at times.

When I didn't know what I had - but kept getting craling, itching sensations on my skin, I self treated with Ivermectin (after begging doctors for Ivermectin and getting only one dose).

Now the latter part gets on my nerves - seemed doctors were perfectly willing to treat long-term with dangerous, dangerous medications - heart meds, sedatives, anti-histamines, etc but refuse to treat with commonly available antibiotics and anti-parasitics that are safe compared to those. Anyways let me get off my soapbox.

You can find ivermectin in liquid or paste form easily from horse stores. I bought the liquids and calculated the dosage according to my body weight.

Check the dosage and dose appropriately. Do not overdose!!! Very little Ivermectin is required to treat a human compared to a horse!

Of course. Scared me too. But I wanted to address any parasites if that's what it was. And with my doctor wanting to prescribe me anti-psychotics and sleep meds and everything but anything useful, I bought the Ivermectin and figured out the dosage and did it.

I took a single dose from time to time for about six months. Sorry I can't be more precise but that time feels quite blurry in my memory.
I can't remember any reactions - I thought I had none - but I was very sick at the time so anything on top would likely not have been noticed - I'm sorry.

When I recently figured out it was Lyme and got treated, I also was tested for parasites and came clear - perhaps because of the Ivermectin.

If you Google, you'll find lots of people use it for scabies too - and because doctors are again reluctant to prescribe anything stronger than the 5% permethrin which is often ineffective against drug resistant scabies - they buy the vet meds and self dose.
