I'm having upper abdominal pain and soreness that feels like it has something to do with stomach acid or bile flow. Can D-limonene be causing this? Should I only take it every other day or a couple times a week instead of daily?
Should not be causing this. But when in doubt, with any supplement, if you stop taking it, you will know.
D-limonene is alkaline, so it will not add to the already acidic environment of the stomach. In fact, its primary use is curing GERD and heartburn.I think that's the problem. I think it reduces stomach acid. When I had these issues a couple of years ago, I had an EGD with bravo test for GERD and reflux. No acid was detected. From what I've learned since from the alternative medical realm, it seems more likely that I was having insufficient stomach acid. I also had a Hida scan on my gallbladder and was told it was normal - for whatever that was worth. I was also at that time thrown into hormonal hell, which was likely the catalyst that threw my digestive system off the cliff. I've never gotten it out of the ditch. It's still laying down there, helpless and waiting.
I've tried apple cider vinegar but don't do well with drinking it. I can tolerate it as a dressing on salad. That's about
the only way I currently use it.
